The RGVBA is honored to have Hidalgo County Sheriff, J.E. “Eddie” Guerra as our speaker this month. Sheriff Guerra will be addressing border safety issues. We know that this is a topic that every one of us, including developers and builders would like to know more about. We hope you join us this month and hear from Sheriff Guerra. NOTE: Reminder to all builders interested in entering the 2019 Parade of Homes, deadline for the “FINAL” Registration, ($3,400) is Thursday, February 28, 2019. For a 2019 RGVBA Parade of Homes Entry Form, go to our website, rgvba.org, fill out copy and hit “send” . This should help out those of you that already know where you are building and expedite the filling out of the entry form. As in past years, once we receive all entries we will hold a mandatory luncheon meeting of all builders in the parade to go over all the rules, regulations and guidelines and get feedback from our builders on other issues of concern to them. We will keep you updated on this meeting. Invitation is also open to all of our associate members and/or developers who wish to offer their discounts to all builders with entries or wish to be a “Major” sponsor of this year’s event or wish to purchase an ad for the guidebook. Ad Agreements will soon be ready for download on our website.

RALLY DAY – MARCH 20, 2019

Plans are underway for the RGVBA officers, directors and staff to attend this years Rally Day in Austin. There are some issues facing our industry and we must try to make our voices heard by our legislators in Austin. We will be asking for sponsorships from our associate members and invite all members to join us as we journey to Austin to meet our legislators. Please email/call me if you need more information or if you are willing to join and/or sponsor this trip.

Health Update on our Friend, Rudy Elizondo

As you all may know Rudy was hospitalized at the end of December and had surgery January 2nd. At last update we understand Rudy is resting comfortably at his sister’s home in San Antonio. Your continued prayers for Rudy would be appreciated. I’ll try to keep you posted on his recovery.
