Asa Maynard, former student at the Juilliard School Pre-college from 2007 – 2010, won a position with the 2019 Verbier Festival Orchestra (2019)

Alma Mele won admission on a full scholarship to attend the Eastern Music Festival during the summer of 2019

Mitch Borkowski (BSU, Music Media Production, 2019) was accepted with a full scholarship into the MM program at Carnegie Mellon University in the studio of Micah Howard (bassist, Pittsburgh Symphony) (2019)

4 Hayden Joyce, former student at The Juilliard School Pre-college from 2010- 2012, won a position in the Hawai’i Symphony through a nationally advertised audition (2017)

Adam Goldberg, was admitted to the master’s program at Boston University with scholarship, studying under Edwin Barker, principal bass of the Boston Symphony. Mr. Barker’s in one of the most prestigious studios in the country, with former students holding positions with the Boston Symphony and Concertgebeuw Orchestra, among many others (2017)

Roger Graves, current masters student and graduate assistant in double bass (graduation date – spring 2017) was awarded the American Ambassador Assistantship to attend the Master Players Festival at the University of Delaware for the second year in a row (2017)

Thomas Cochrane (MUSP ’14) was admitted into the Artist Diploma program at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (2017)

Adam Goldberg, current undergraduate performance and composition double major (graduation date – spring 2017) was admitted to and attended the Eastern Music Festival for the second year in a row (2016)

Roger Graves, current masters student and graduate assistant in double bass (graduation date – spring 2017) was awarded the American Ambassador Assistantship to attend the Master Players Festival at the University of Delaware (2016)

Roger Graves, current masters student and graduate assistant in double bass (graduation date – spring 2017) was offered a position in the United States Marine Corps Band to start upon the completion of his degree (2016)

Hayden Joyce, former student at The Juilliard School Pre-college from 2010- 2012, was accepted into the master’s program at the Colburn Conservatory of Music in Los Angeles, CA. Colburn offers full financial scholarships, including tuition, room and board to all students, making it one of the most competitive schools in the country for admission.

Adam Goldberg, current undergraduate performance and composition double major (graduation date – spring 2017) was accepted and invited to attend both the Brevard Music Center Institute and the Eastern Music Festival. He attended Eastern Music Festival during Summer 2015 as a recipient of an EMF Young Artist Merit Scholarship (2015)

Thomas Cochrane, recent graduate (winter 2014, undergraduate performance major), was accepted and enrolled in the studio of Albert Laszlo at the College- Conservatory of Music, University of Cincinnati as a graduate scholarship recipient (2015)

Timothy Chen, former student at The Juilliard School Pre-college from 2011- 2012, was a member of the 2015 National Repertory Orchestra (NRO) in Breckenridge, CO (2015)

Alexander Bickard, former student at The Juilliard School Pre-college from 2010-2012, was the winner of The Juilliard School Double Bass Competition and will perform Bottesini’s Concerto No. 2 with the Juilliard Chamber Orchestra at Alice Tully Hall in New York City on November 17, 2014

Hayden Joyce, former student at The Juilliard School Pre-college from 2010 – 2012 and alumnus of BSU’s 2013 Benefic Chamber Music Camp, was selected as a member of the 2014 National Repertory Orchestra (NRO) in Breckenridge, CO

4.2 Program, Curriculum, Course Development

Interdisciplinary Collaboration with Nile Brandt, BSU graduate assistant pursuing a double master’s degree in Sports and Exercise Psychology and Counseling – Since February 2015, with the approval of the Director of the School of Music and in conjunction with the sports and exercise psychology faculty, I have worked with Nile to produce regular interactive workshops for the bass studio on topics encompassing mental training and performance psychology. Nile has conducted these workshops in partial fulfillment for his sports and exercise psychology practicum.
