Bridgnorth 5 On 5th March the East Shropshire School Sport Partnership narrowly lost out to KS3 Orienteering Endowed , North Shropshire T&W Burton Borough at the 2019 Winter/spring Shropshire Homes School Sport Festival as part of the School Games. In total over 131 pupils took part Oldbury Wells 6 This event took place on Tuesday 2nd April at Dudmaston Hall—Comer Woods. OWS/BES/ in 10 different team events from 19 different partnership primary schools against 5 other WBS attended and the fastest 4 pairs will be taken through to the summer SG finals at KS1 Multi-skills/ 7 partnership areas—Shrewsbury, South Shropshire, North Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin Cardingmill Valley on 15th May including 3 pairs from WBS and a combined OWS/BES pair. upcoming Burton Borough and Telford & Wrekin Langley. All East Shropshire teams participated Spring Term School Games mini-festival events magnificently. The children rotated round each activity and worked with great enthusiasm and energy . Thanks to the ‘THIS GIRL CAN’ festival last year we have a strong club link with the new Boxing club in town set up by Joe Lockley—‘Bright Stars’. On Thursday 21st March selected year 6 pupils from Shifnal, St Andrews, Sheriffhales and Beckbury practised becoming ’bright stars’ themselves! The year 6 pupils had a fantastic time at the club learning some Boxing skills and fitness drills from Joe Lock- ley supported by Idsall’s vey own GB Boxer Y12 Brayden Davies. Many pupils wanted to join the club following the experience and what a brilliant way to work off SATS stress! Club times are Mondays and Friday -6 7pm. to finish 3rd. The final saw a combined team from Beckbury and Claverley defeat St Johns to take the overall 1st place. Thank you to all the staff and parents for making the event possible. Mr Jew led another successful Dodgeball event at Bridgnorth Endowed School this term. A massive well done to the Year 7 leaders who did a tremendous job officiating and scoring probably one of the most difficult games to manage on the Primary School Calendar. Over 90 students took part in this fast paced activity. Students demonstrated tremendous resilience and honesty in this fun high octane event. Well done to all. Overall results saw Shifnal claim the winning spot with Claverley 2nd and St Johns
