Property

A superb double fronted Grade II listed Georgian home believed to date from the early 1800’s and standing on a large plot approaching ¾ of an acre. The property still has many of its period features such as wooden flooring, high ceilings, sash windows, cast iron fireplaces and ceiling roses, whilst the current owners have refurbished the property with a blend of new and old to make this property a wonderful family home.

The accommodation is arranged over three floors with the ground floor comprising a lounge, separate dining room, family room and a kitchen/breakfast area. On the first floor there are three bedrooms with the master bedroom and the fifth bedroom both boasting en-suite shower rooms. There is also a family bathroom with both bath tub and corner shower unit plus the attractive features of exposed beams and flint wall. There are two further large double bedrooms on the top floor.

The feeling of space continues outside where there is a secure garden which mainly laid to lawn with a woodland area with rear access to the rural land on the edge of Park ideal for dog walking. There is also a decked terrace with a gazebo, a children's play area and a large garden shed. The property has a detached garage with off street parking for numerous cars.

Eythorne village has its own church, public house and general store, and there is good access to Dover town centre which is approximately 8 miles distance and the Cathedral City of Canterbury is approximately 14 miles away. There is also a mainline railway station in the nearby village of approximately 2 ½ miles away with a fast link to London. The highly regarded Sibertswold C of E Primary School is also nearby in Shepherdswell.

Our Time Here

We loved the Georgian townhouse style of the property and the rural nature of the garden; the whole plot had huge potential. When we first walked inside, the house had a lovely warmth to it and the views from the upper 2 floors are wonderful.

Our favourite room is the lounge as it’s warm and relaxing, especially with the fire on. It feels spacious and cosy at the same time.

Eythorne is a warm and welcoming family friendly village and we have made good friends here. The position is very convenient to travel anywhere, providing easy access to A256 and A2, as well as Dover Priory station for fast trains to London St. Pancras, which is only a 10 minute drive away from the house.

We love the fact that the house is surrounded by beautiful countryside and so is particularly great for dog walking. There is a handy local shop just 2 minutes walk up the road, which is also a post office, and a good local pub very nearby. There are Primary Schools in two neighbouring villages. Sibotswold in Shepherdswell is particularly fantastic.

We know that we will miss summer time in the garden, enjoying drinks and dinners while watching the kids play. Christmas in the dining room is beautiful, all decorated and festive. This was our youngest child's first home, so we will take lots of good memories with us.
