Field for The 2017 includes nine Major Champions

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. – (June 26, 2017): Nine winners of Major Championships, the 2011 PGA TOUR Player of the Year, a six-time PGA TOUR winner and six of the top 30 players in the world are among the golfers in the star- studded field for The 2017 Greenbrier Classic. The PGA TOUR FedExCup event will make its annual stop at The Old White TPC Course at The Greenbrier July 3-9, 2017. “Some of the biggest names and top players in the game will be part of the tournament, and we can’t wait to welcome them to America’s Resort,” said Habibi Mamone, Executive Tournament Director, The Greenbrier Classic. “We always have had a competitive tournament, and with these great players on a newly restored course, we’re expecting more of the same in 2017.” Five-time Major winner headlines the list of Greenbrier Classic participants who have won ’s biggest tournaments. The Greenbrier’s PGA TOUR Ambassador won the Masters in 2004, 2006 and 2010, as well as in 2013 and the PGA Championship in 2005. has three Major titles in his trophy case. The 54-year-old Fijian won the Masters in 2000, as well as the PGA Championship in 1998 and 2004. Angel Cabrera, the 2014 Greenbrier Classic champion won the U.S. Open in 2007 and the Masters in 2009. and are the other two winners of multiple majors in the field for The 2017 Greenbrier Classic. Daly won the PGA Championship in 1991 and The Open Championship in 1995. Watson, a member of The Greenbrier Sporting Club, won a pair of Masters Green Jackets in 2012 and 2014. Three other participants in The 2017 Greenbrier Classic won single Major Championships. won The Open Championship in 2009. won the U.S. Open championship in 2009, Davis Love III won the PGA Championship in 1997 and captured the PGA Championship in 2016. When it comes to the Official World Golf Rankings, six of the world’s 30 best players will make their way to The Greenbrier Classic. , who is ranked No. 17, is the highest to commit so far, and he’s followed closely by at No. 22. Mickelson is currently No. 24 in the world, while is No. 25. (No. 27) and winner Si Woo Kim (No. 29) are the other Top 30 players who plan on teeing it up on the newly restored Old White TPC Course. Other highly-decorated players committed to The Greenbrier Classic in 2017 include , a five-time winner on the PGA TOUR who was the PGA TOUR Player of the Year in 2011, and , a six-time PGA TOUR winner.
