Pen Portrait Having been a teacher until I retired, education has always been my greatest interest. Originally I became a Hornsea governor when my children were pupils here. I am secretary of two educational charities for young people, one in Leven and one in . As a governor at HSLC I am a member of the Personnel, Finance, Curriculum and Scrutiny sub-committees. I am particularly interested in curriculum issues - as government cuts bite it becomes more difficult to sustain some of the less popular subjects although these subjects are very important areas of study if the school is to be able to offer a wide and diverse curriculum. For many years I enjoyed being Link governor to the very successful Social Sciences faculty but have now moved to the equally successful Performing Arts Faculty. As the link governor I visit classes in Dance, Drama and Music with students from all year groups and have particularly enjoyed attending various performances including exciting rehearsals for the latest school production. At home I garden, I read, I look after my cats, ducks and chickens and I involve myself in politics.
