Lead, Care and Inspire

December-March 2020 Principal’s Message F Mastermindz

For most of us, success is the parameter by which we judge ourselves and others. The pinnacle of our efforts is crowned with success which is the penultimate goal of our aspirations. Our energies are invested in a single task that becomes the focus of our life. However, often in life success is relative and there is no absolute definition of success leading to setting of new goals every time one is achieved. A cycle of constantly aspiring for more in terms of wealth, recognition or knowledge is thus established.

In the past decades, there have been incredible changes in the world, all wrought by technology. New challenges arise every day. There challenges require novel approaches which have never been learnt but draw on ingenuity, practicality, persistence and collaborative abilities which are developed during years of education. Out of the box thinking with the optimal utilization of available resources can greatly aid in overcoming these challenges.

One such situation faced by the school was the enormous challenge of imparting education to students under the constraints created recently by the COVID 19 lockdown. The students of the school, teachers and parents rapidly adapted to the situation with an innovative solution. The aid of technology, coupled with the cooperation of parents and students, led to the decision to continue schooling using available technologies, without compromising on the education imparted to students.

So, safely ensconced in the safety of their homes, students continue learning without compro- mise. The successful implementation of these strategies within the framework of rules created an opportunity for growth which previously hadn’t existed. The ability to grow by surmounting obstacles is one of the greatest skills human beings have been endowed with and is the focus of development of new skills. Together, we can support individual growth which in turn leads to societal transformation. So, exploring new avenues for growth should be the focus of efforts in the future.

I wish you a e best! Surender P. Sachdeva - Principal 1 Grn School Drive

The World Is Quite Here

I open my bedroom My head ached; my eyes red I found you lying motionless on my bed When you touched your flowery colourful Your eyes as stiff as a sleeping rat coffin my life went black and white. However, my bad luck you were not the one sleeping Your body as cold as ice While I write this, It seemed that heaven had rolled its dice. A soft, cold hand touches my shoulder … The person said, ‘It’s okay you’re with me We promised never to leave now ‘ Not without each other My love far lived forever, I freed you, now are you happy? Will you now However, you did not. climb the train of love, hope and joy?’ I stand up from my chair, That noon, colour of my life was sucked out I looked in the mirror, And instead filled with despair, loneliness and sorrow My love for you fluttered like a butterfly, My stomach had a deep stabbed wound. Until death swooped it away like a bat. And behind me, There you stood, smiling at me in your blood You come in my dreams, You say, ‘move on wet dress and holding hands with me. Get on the train of hope there is love and joy’. But where will I go if I have no destination? Krisha Mitra - VIII K You say, “life is a conundrum of esoterica” I had finally solved it I had found the missing piece But now it was stolen from me in cold blood.

Take On This Earth Day “The Earth will find its own way to rejuvenate itself every time we turn a deaf ear to its calling.” This year embarks 50th year of Earth day on April 22nd to remind us of our duties in making this planet a better place to live in. As human beings it is our utmost responsibility to ensure that we use our natural resources carefully and do not pollute to environment, use of eco-friendly things, use of less electricity, less wastage of water should be our prime responsibility. This lockdown, I unlocked my urge to understand the bounties of mother nature. I challenged myself being a “GREEN WARRIOR” and it began with doing little things at home.

I helped my mother to segregate the waste into non-recyclable and recyclable waste. We ensured that we utilize less electricity and use natural resources to brighten up the house. We recycled the water that runs out of the RO purifier and used it to water plants and mop the house. Our next initiative is to utilize the solar energy and emphasize on zero wastage.

Little deeds of awareness can help us restore the beauty of Mother Earth and stop the climate change. What you give is what you get! Let each one of us pledge to be a “GREEN WARRIOR”.
