Quarterly Report for the NZ Music Commission Quarter 1: January Quarterly Report for the NZ Music Commission Quarter 1: January, February, March 2017 This report has been created by Recorded Music NZ for The NZ Music Commission. The purpose of the report is to track the consumption of NZ Music consumed within NZ across various media: Streaming, Downloads, Physical formats and Radio. At a glance: Quarter 1 – January, February, March 2017 Streaming • The number of streams by NZ artists streamed in NZ was up 4.1% from last quarter to 52,329,661 streams this quarter. • Overall streaming units were down 1.9% during this period to 890,482,692 total streams. Single Sale Units • The number of single sale units by NZ artists purchased digitally in NZ was down 20.2% from last quarter to 42,605 units this quarter. • Overall Single Sales units were down 21.4% during this period to 567,611 total units. Album Sales Units • The number of album sales units by NZ artists purchased digitally or physically in NZ was down 56.3% from last quarter to 32,670 units this quarter. • Overall Album Sales units were down 46.8 % during this period to 276,548 total units. Radio • Individual spins of songs by NZ artists across all radio in NZ was down 9.9% from last quarter to 315,320 spins this quarter.
