THE KYLE ASCHE TRIO Guitarist Kyle Asche arrived in Chicago, Illinois in 1998, and has since become an integral and in-demand part of the city’s scene. The Kyle Asche Organ Trio continuously perform at many of the famous venues in Chicago including the Green Mill, Hothouse, Andy’s Jazz Club, Pops for Champagne, and Pete Miller’s. Mr. Asche was awarded as a semifinalist in the prestigious 2005 Thelonius Monk International Guitar Competition. In 2005 Kyle Asche’s debut album as a leader was released, The Hook Up (Orgin/ OA2), and was very well received throughout the USA in the media and radio. Jazz Times stated, “Asche displays a beautiful sound and a well-developed melodic sense.” Mr. Asche’s second CD as a leader, Blues For Mel (Tippin’) places him in the company of legendary elder jazz statesman of the organ, and Chicago based drummer George Fludas. This album includes original compositions by both Kyle Asche and Melvin Rhyne in addition to other jazz classics.

WITHRHYNE MEL

Organist Melvin Rhyne was an important part of the Indianapolis jazz scene in the late fif- ties through the sixties. A mostly self-taught pianist he played with the then-unknown Ro- land Kirk from 1955-1956, and soon switched to organ. In addition to the jazz masters in the Indianapolis region he also had opportu- nities to back a series of blues and R&B art- ists, including T-Bone Walker and B.B. King. From 1959-1964 Mel was a member of the trio and went on to record four records (The Wes Montgomery Trio, , Guitar on the Go, ) with this historic trio. Rhyne later went on to record twelve records for the CrissCross label under his own name along with other such luminar- ies as Peter Bernstein, Eric Alexander, and . AND GEORGE FLUDAS Chicago based jazz drummer George Fludas was a member of Ray Brown’s trio from 2000-2001 and has performed with many jazz greats, such as , , Hank Jones, Tommy Flana- gan, Frank Wess, , Eric Alexander and Diana Krall. When not performing nationally and internationally George can be heard playing in Chicago at The Jazz Showcase, The Green Mill and Pete Miller’s with pianist Ron Perrillo’s trio and The Chicago Jazz Orch.
