ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS Please include the following materials with this form: (Acceptance is based on an evaluation of these materials, and how well they demonstrate your potential for the program.)

Portfolio 1 (Required for: 2D/3D Character Animation, Game Art & Design, Professional Photography, and Visual Effects for Film & TV) 12 examples of your best artwork Your portfolio should represent your current skill level, whatever that may be. Print or digital copies of original artwork are accepted Digital artwork should be sent in Adobe friendly formats (e.g. jpg, targa, pdf). Guidelines & Tips Program specific guidelines and portfolio tips available atvanarts.com/admission-requirements . Audition (Required for: Acting for Film & TV, and Broadcasting & Online Media) Acting for Film & TV 2 Audition pieces required – Contrasting monologues (must be from a play), 1 contemporary and 1 Shakespeare, or 2 Contemporary (1 dramatic and 1 comedic). Each piece should be no longer than 2 minutes; applicant should know both monologues without use of text (on paper or computer). In person audition is preferred, followed by an interview; we will accept recorded auditions which will be followed by a Skype Interview. Broadcasting & Online Media Successful completion of a vocal audition and personal interview (either in-person or by phone). Applicants must showcase high proficiency in general broadcasting knowledge, industry awareness, and the English language.

Letter of Intent 2 A one page personal statement describing: your career goals, what sparks your interest for your chosen program of study and why you have chosen VanArts.

Proof of Age 4 Photocopy of your passport or driver’s license with Photo ID.

Transcripts 5 VanArts encourages applicants to submit all recent secondary and post-secondary transcripts. High school transcripts are required for candidates under 19 years of age.

English Proficiency 6 For students who are not fluent in English, proof of English language proficiency must be provided (e.g. test scores, transcripts, partner programs). We may also require a telephone or in-person interview. Accepted methods of proving English proficiency are available at vanarts.com/admission-requirements.
