    HERMES Development of a Higher Education and Research Area between Europe and the Middle East The principle objective of HERMES project is to develop scientific mobility/exchanges of students at all levels and staff between the Higher Education institutions of Europe and the Higher Education institutions of the Middle East. This will lead to a “strong sustainable contribution” to the creation of a European– Mediterranean area of High- er Education and research. A total of 180 mobility is expected to be performed between the twenty universities of the HERMES consor- tium: 144 mobility from the Middle East to Europe and 36 Mobility from Europe to the Middle East. The dura- tion of the project is 4 years. The program has begun in July 2013 and it will end in June 2017. The Hermes program is funded by EU.
