GIRLS’ SOCCER TEAM WINS AGAIN! The Wildcat Girls’ Soccer Team defeated Montoursville for a 4-2 victory! Three team members, Molly Kerstetter, Riley Griffith and Emily Walls, scored goals in the first half. Macie Schnure scored in the second half. Great job! The Girls’ Soccer Team was back at it again on Friday night and took the win over Selinsgrove, 3-0. Riley Griffith scored two goals, and Molly Kerstetter scored one goal in the first half. Assisting on Griffith’s goals were Macie Schnure, and Cara Snook.

MIFF EDGES OUT SHIK, 1-0 The Wildcat Field Hockey Team persevered against Shikellamy with just minutes to spare. Mifflinburg’s Camryn Murray made the goal with an assist by Brook Karchner. The Team also took the win over Southern Columbia, 4-1, on Thursday! Scoring goals were Brook Karchner, Bri Doebler, Abby Snayberger and Camryn Murray.

WILDCAT BOYS’ VARSITY SOCCER TEAM ROLLS AHEAD! Over the last week, the Boys’ Soccer Team has been kicking goals and taking wins! The Team took a win over Warrior Run, 4-2. Mifflinburg’s Mason Novobilski scored two goals, and Ethan Mangle and Ethan Hendricks each had a goal. Last Monday, the Boys’ Team defeated Jersey Shore, 4-1. Mason Novobilski made three of the four goals scored by the Wildcats and assisted on the fourth. Dylan Linn also scored for the Wildcats in this game. Last Wednesday, the Wildcat Boys’ shut out Danville, 2-0. Mason Novobilski scored two goals in the second half to secure the win.

Apple & Sausage Wild Rice

 2 tablespoons olive oil  5 ounces summer sausage, cut into 1/4-inch cubes  2 celery ribs, chopped  1 small onion, finely chopped  1/2 cup uncooked long grain brown rice  1/2 cup uncooked wild rice  2 medium apples, coarsely chopped  2 garlic cloves, minced  1-1/2 cups apple cider or juice  1 cup beef broth  1/8 teaspoon pepper Directions 1. In a large saucepan, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add sausage, celery and onion; cook and stir 4-6 minutes or until tender. 2. Add rice, apples and garlic; cook and stir 1-2 minutes or until rice is lightly browned. Add cider, broth and pepper; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, covered, 1 to 1-1/4 hours or until liquid is absorbed and rice is tender. Fluff with a fork. ______

The Susquehanna Valley Fishing Team Dominates at Tournament!

Several Mifflinburg Teams took wins to advance to various tournaments. Both of Mifflinburg, the Team of Gavin Enders and Cadin Sheesley competed and won first place in the Fishing League World Wide National Championship Qualifier Tournament. This win advances them to take their skills to the National Championship in Alabama next summer. Congratulations to you both!

Daniel Walter and Ty Stroup of Mifflinburg took the win in the Bass Angler Sportsman Society (“B.A.S.S.”), PA Bass Federation High School State Championship! This win secures a trip for the two to compete in the B.A.S.S. National Championship next summer in Tennessee. Amazing job guys!

Gavin Enders and Cadin Sheesley finished Third in the B.A.S.S. PA Bass Federation High School State Championships.

In the Juniors Division, Luke Rokavec and Josh Stroud placed Second which qualifies them to compete in the B.A.S.S. Junior National Championships next summer.

Carter Loss and Justin Weikel were the B.A.S.S. National Junior Champions. They have also qualified for Nationals in Tennessee. Good luck everyone!
