Sunny Bank Mills has a rich textile history. The original mills date back to 1829 when they were developed 01 RED LANE MILL by a group of clothiers including Mr John Gaunt, a 02 THE TWISTING GALLERY descendant of the current owners. The site as it is 03 THE MENDING ROOMS named today relates to its expansion in 1850 with the acquisition of land known as Sunny Bank. 04 THE OLD DYEHOUSE

05 THE SPINNING MILL During the mid –19th century, Edwin Woodhouse P purchased a number of the mills and named them 06 THE OLD WOOLLEN after himself. The site continued to develop and was 07 THE OLD COMBING subsequently bought in 1917, by William C Gaunt.
