Monday, October 2 Welcome to England

Artist Studio Visit: Antony Gormley

Visit Sir Antony Mark David Gormley , top British artist who has sculptures and public installations exhibited worldwide. Named one of the “100 Most Powerful People in British Culture” by the Daily Telegraph, Gormley’s acclaimed works focus on the intimate relationship between the human body and space.

Curator Tour: The Victoria & Albert Museum

The beloved V&A Museum is a trove of historic treasures. Enjoy an in-depth, after-hours tour of Opera: Passion, Power and Politics with Kate Bailey, Senior Curator and Producer, Department of Theatre and Performance.

Welcome Dinner: William Kent Room

Tuesday, October 3 The Heart of the City and Curator Tour:

Before the museum opens to the public, our group will be greeted by Gabriele Finaldi, Director of the National Gallery, before we tour Reflections: Van Eyck and the Pre-Raphaelites with Susan Foister, Deputy Director and Curator of Early Netherlandish, German, and British Painting. We will then join Larry Keith, conservator and Director of Collections, for an exclusive tour of the conservation labs.

Private Visit: Hauser & Wirth

Founded in Switzerland in 1992, Hauser & Wirth is an international gallery devoted to contemporary and modern art. This "marketplace of ideas” provides a look to the current international scene. Our group will be greeted by the Gallery Director and will view their new exhibitions with works by Jack Whitten and Marcel Broodthaers.

Private Visit : Victoria Miro Gallery

Victoria Miro, a grande dame of the British art scene, runs this acclaimed contemporary art gallery in London. The gallery exhibits the work of established and emerging artists from around the world. An exhibition of works by renowned American artist Hernan Bas will be on view.

Private Collection: Maryam Eisler

Maryam Eisler will guide our group through her private collection of modern and contemporary works by American and Iranian artists, including works by Gary Hume, Cecily Brown, and Gerhard Richter. A founding member of the Middle East Committee at the , Ms. Eisler is also a board member at the Delfina Foundation, and has written for publications such as Vanity Fair and Harper’s Bazaar Art.

Curator Tour: Leighton House Museum

Senior Curator Daniel Robbins and exhibition co-curator Professor Elizabeth Prettejohn will tour our group through Alma-Tadema: At Home in Antiquity while the museum is closed to the public. Built in 1865, this historic site is filled with art created by Victorian artist . A private champagne toast will follow our tour.

Wednesday, October 4 Mayfair and Regents Park

Curator Tour: Britain

Enjoy a curator-guided tour of the Tate’s distinguished pre-Raphaelite collection with Alison Smith, Lead Curator, British Art to 1900, before the museum opens to the public. Encompassing British art from 1500 to the present day, the houses one of the most spectacular collections of British art.

VIP Access: Frieze Masters and Frieze London

Sir Norman Rosenthal will lead a private tour of curated works at Frieze Masters. Then, preview Frieze London before the public with VIP access. See cutting-edge art from world-class galleries with exceptional international collectors.

Private Collection: Dudley House

Join His Highness Qatari Sheikh Hamad bin Abdullah Al-Thani at his home and rare surviving aristocratic palace, Dudley House for afternoon tea. Additionally, Dr. Amin Jaffer, Chief Curator of The Al Thani Collection will share his insights about the collection, some of which will be on view at the Legion of Honor in 2018.

Private Reception: Christie’s King Street

View Christie’s King Street showroom with Peter Brown, International Head of 19th Century European Art. Following the tour, enjoy a private reception. Our group will also be hosted by Orlando Rock, Chairman of Christie’s UK, and Guillaume Cerutti, CEO of Christie’s.

VIP Invitation: The Contemporary Art Party (optional)

After our visit, stay at Christie’s for a VIP party hosted by Christie’s and Vanity Fair in celebration of Christie’s auctions during Frieze week. Featuring music by Henri, this exclusive, sought-after reception will provide access to the curated auctions “Masterpieces of Design and Photography” and “Up Close”. Thursday, October 5 Estates in the English Countryside

Tour and Lunch: Highclere Castle

Highclere Castle, the ancestral seat of the Carnarvon family, has hosted kings, queens, and Prime Ministers. This pastorally-set castle is most recently famous for its role in the popular Masterpiece Theatre show, Downton Abbey. Upon arrival, we will enjoy Buck Fizz before touring the State Rooms and Gallery Bedrooms. Refreshments will then be served in the Coach House Tea Rooms.

Private Collection: Sydmonton Court

Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber’s country home, Sydmonton Court, is surrounded by gardens and magnificent views and houses a preeminent collection of Pre-Raphaelite art. Lord Webber will greet our group upon arrival before we are joined once more by Alison Smith from the Tate Britain and Peter Brown from Christie’s as we tour this beautiful home. Friday, October 6 Royal Academy and Closing Dinner

Curator Tour: Royal Academy

Enjoy a private tour of Dali / Duchamp, the first exhibition to explore the surprising relationship of these two great 20th-century artists. Located in the heart of London, the Royal Academy is a place where art is made, exhibited and debated.

Artist Studio Visit: Sir Anish Kapoor

Anish Kapoor is one of the most influential sculptors of his generation. A British sculptor, Kapoor was Born in Bombay, and has lived and worked in London since the early 1970s. Perhaps most famous for public sculptures that are both adventures in form and feats of engineering, he maneuvers between vastly different scales, across numerous series of work.

Artist Studio Visit: Edmund de Waal

Edmund de Waal is a British artist and author. He is most recognized for his distinctive, large scale installations of porcelain vessels. His ceramics draw inspiration from traditional Japanese miniatures, medieval Chinese ceramics and Bauhaus aesthetics.

Private Collection: Tiqui Atencio

View works by Ed Ruscha, Christopher Wool, and Anthony Gormley at the personal collection of Tiqui Atencio. She is an author, philanthropist, and Chair of the Guggenheim International Council. Notably, she also founded the Tate’s Latin American Acquisitions Committee.
