This will serve as the April 2020 newsletter. May newsletter will also be just a one page update. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

To all April/May birthdays and anniversaries: Happy Birthday! We wish you well! To all those feeling a bit under the weather, please get well soon. To anyone who may have lost a loved one, please know our deepest sympathies are with you and yours.

Wishing you all health and wellness. Dear Senior Center Members: During these uncertain times, the Mayor has issued an executive order to close many City government offices including the Senior Center. This precautionary measure is to protect the health and safety of the citizens of Michigan City as well as those who serve in our lo- cal government. As such, the Senior Center is effectively closed THROUGH THE END OF APRIL. All daily activities are canceled as well as special events including: Soup Day (March 24) Ageless Grace Presentation (March 25) The Trash & Treasure Sale (March 28) Open Mic Jam Session/Potluck (March 31 & Apr 28) Coffee with the Mayor (March 31 & Apr 28)) Egg Stuffing (April 1) Chalk Couture (April 8) Advisory Board Meeting (Apr 14) 1st Travel Trip/Evita (Apr 15) Trivia Challenge (Apr 16) Silver Sneakers Presentation (Apr 21) Newsletter Assembly (Apr 23) 1st Travel Trip/Washington, D.C. (Apr 23-29) Exchange Club Raffle (Apr 25)

There is a possibility that the restriction would be lifted sometime in April. If we are able to re-open during the month of April, the only way we would have to notify you is through radio media (WIMS, WEFM, WLOI, WCOE), newspaper press release (News-Dispatch & Herald Argus), or social media (Facebook). Please check them weekly for updates. DO NOT call the radio stations, the Senior Center, Park Dept, City Hall, etc. for information. We all are operating on a limited capacity and have limited hours in which to accomplish es- sential tasks. Continue to check the above listed media outlets for updates.

In the meantime, please take measures to protect yourself and your families. CDC recom- mendations on preventive measures can be found online at www.cdc.gov/coronavirus. Please heed the warnings out there and stay home unless absolutely necessary. We will get through this and be back on schedule as soon as we are able. In the meantime, be well.
