Created by Kenna Burima Calgary, Canada January 8 – 5:00pm (Reception and Live Performance) Recording plays at Noon daily throughout January The Calgary Tower FREE The Calgary Tower Carillon is the city’s largest musical instrument, entertaining thousands of downtowners every day. A gif to Calgary from the Dutch Canadian Club on Canada’s centennial, it has served for many years as a big music box playing American show tunes and Christmas carols. High Performance Rodeo has changed that. For the past three years HPR, collaborating with Calgary Tower and the Calgary Downtown Association, has commissioned composers and musicians to animate our downtown. This year local favourite, steamy vocalist, smoking keyboardist and shimmering composer, Kenna Burima, helps forever change the way Calgary sounds. Take time to pause and listen every lunch hour during the month of January.
