Mr. Trevern A. Sterling was born in considers the Seattle, WA area home having moved there as a teenager. After graduation from High School in 1981 he attended the University of Washington earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics. He enlisted in the Navy to become Supply Corps Officer and in the fall of 1986 reported to Officer Candidate School in Newport, Rhode Island. He was commissioned an Ensign in February 1987.

Upon gaining his commission, he attended Navy Supply Corps School in Athens, Georgia then Navy School in Groton, Connecticut. He reported to his first sea duty, the USS TUNNY (SSN-682), on December 7th, 1987 in , to serve as the Supply Department Head. While attached to USS TUNNY he completed both Eastern and Western Pacific Deployments and completed Submarine Supply Officer qualifications.

In 1990 he reported to Naval Sea Systems Command in Washington DC for a Navy Acquisition Contracting Officer (NACO) Internship tour. In 1992 he was assigned to Navy Regional Contracting Center Singapore where he was responsible for Fleet Support and Husbanding Agent contracts to support ship deployments throughout Southeast Asia.

In January 1995, Mr. Sterling reported to USS BLUE RIDGE (LCC-19) homeported in Yokosuka, Japan as the Assistant Supply Officer where he was qualified Surface Warfare Supply Corps Officer.

Mr. Sterling was assigned to the US Embassy, Asmara, Eritrea, Africa in April 1997 as the Military Liaison Officer to Eritrea. In this duty he reported directly to US Central Command and was the Ambassadors’ Military Advisor. In 1998 he conducted a Noncombatant Evacuation Operation (NEO) of US civilian personnel after hostilities broke out between Eritrea and neighboring Ethiopia.

In 1998, Mr. Sterling commenced a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) curriculum at the University of Washington. Upon earning his MBA and a Global Trade, Transportation and Logistics Certificate, he reported to Naval Air Systems Command in Patuxent River, Maryland in summer of 2000. He was assigned as the Business Financial Manager for Program Executive Office Air ASW, Assault and Special Mission (PEO-A) Programs.

Mr. Sterling reported to the Commander, US Naval Forces Europe (CNE) Staff as the Deputy Fleet Supply Officer in 2003. Deploying to Liberia in July 2003 as part of US European Commands’ Humanitarian Assistance Survey Team (HAST) he again conducted a Noncombatant Evacuation Operation (NEO) of US civilian personnel when civil war hostilities erupted. His duty in Liberia earned him the Combat Action Ribbon. Additionally, he assisted in CNE Theater Transformation efforts to restructure staffs, infrastructure and logistic support for the Europe.

In 2005 he reported to , Spain as the Regional Supply Officer, Fleet Industrial Supply Center (FISC) Sigonella Rota and as Supply Department Head, Naval Station Rota, Spain. He is responsible for execution of logistics requirements for Naval Station Rota, Spain and joint sea, air and ground forces assigned to US European Command and/or US Africa Command.

In October 1, 2009, he retired from U. S. Naval Service and assumed duties as the Deputy Regional Supply Officer at FISCSI Rota, Spain. In 2016, he returned to the United States and reported to the Strategic Systems Programs Head Quarters in the Washington Navy Yard as the lead Logistics Program Manager for the Ohio Submarine Replacement Program, Common Missile Compartment acquisition program.

Mr. Sterling’s awards while on active duty include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Meritorious Service Medal (three), Navy Commendation (three), Navy Achievement Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal (two) and various other service medals and ribbons.
