Position main function: The Program Coordinator works closely with the C4D Director and will provide program management support to the and programs in and occasionally support other programs outside Kenya as need may arise.

This position will also efficiently and effectively manage the external communications for FilmAid Kenya, and contribute to FilmAid's International's broader communications as aligned with FilmAid’s overall goals.

About FilmAid FilmAid is a development and humanitarian communications organization that harnesses the power and influence of film and media to address critical social issues by creating multimedia content designed to inform, inspire and empower. FilmAid uses strategic and integrated approaches to distribution, including broadcast media, mobile cinema, workshops, community­ based screenings and digital media and works with communities to catalyze and drive social change.

FilmAid designs and implements communications initiatives on critical health, protection and environmental issues. FilmAid’s Theory­Of­Change is based on the integration of access, creativity and participation, which drive individual and community change, contributing to positive social impact. Underpinning this approach is collaboration; working together is fundamental to achieving change. FilmAid partners with communities, creators, NGOs, Governments, and the private sector to ensure a collaborative approach to this end.

FilmAid’s work falls into the four integrated components: Media Content, Communication with Communities (CwC), Communication for Development (C4D) and Skills Development that combine to support program delivery. FilmAid produces multiple forms of creative media, which is subsequently distributed through a variety of outreach channels, ensuring that target communities are reached. This CwC/C4D includes targeted screening events and workshops, radio, SMS, as well as digital media platforms. In addition, FilmAid builds skills within the community to deliver the media and outreach components. This participatory approach drives individual change, as well as ensuring community engagement and ownership of all interventions. Roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Program Coordination (50%)

● Compile monthly update reports, donor / grant reports and other reports as maybe required from time to time. ● To support program implementation as well as provide technical input to new programs. ● Will work closely with the Country & C4D Directors, Field Managers and relevant Nairobi and HQ staff in brainstorming and developing new concepts/programs/proposals for Kakuma and Dadaab and in new sites. ● Assist the Operations Director and C4D Director in coordinating the annual country/regional program planning activities and drawing up the country/regional Operations Plan. ● Oversee the implementation of outreach workplans under the direction of the C4D Director. ● Assist in the development of grant proposals. ● Participate in the drafting of yearly workplans. ● Research and acquisition of external video content. ● Conduct Internet research on topics including best practices, fundraising, and other resources, to circulate to the field staff, and respond to other technical assistance requests. ● Assist the C4D Director in program management. ● Participate in the recruitment of program staff. ● Maintain absolute confidentiality of all information that he/she may have access to in the execution of his/her duties.

Partnership Management & External Communications (50%)

● Update FilmAid's CRM platform, Salesforce, with important local information on partners on a bi­weekly basis. ● Focal point for field communications: coordinate newsletter ideas with headquarters, website information updates, blog posts, drafting communication materials, FilmAid’s participation in events, etc. ● Work closely with the Partnerships Team at HQ to plan local meetings, next steps and other partnership materials for FilmAid in Kenya. ● Actively pursue, develop and nurture partnerships with relevant government offices, civil society, media and all key partners through meetings, emails and regular updates in conjunction with the Partnerships team at HQ. ● Continuously update a list of partners and contacts in Nairobi, Kakuma, & Dadaab. ● Conduct external communications in line with broader FilmAid International image and publicity guidelines by ensuring positive visibility of FilmAid and its projects in Kenya on national and international media. ● Develop communications material, including both new content and content sourced from former projects and work closely with the Research & Learning Manager and Creative & Content Director to integrate impact data and multimedia into communications materials. ● Oversee the management of visibility activities, such as the Film Festival, including event management and management of consultants for events in Nairobi and coordination with Field Managers for events in the field. ● Oversee and manage internal reporting; work with Field Managers to integrate internal field reports and receipt of curated photos. ● Draft and clear the monthly internal report for Nairobi with necessary staff members. ● Supervise and contribute to the writing of stories and blog posts on FilmAid Kenya's projects. ● Oversee the development, implementation and maintenance of social media and communications platforms for FilmAid Kenya. ● Provide feedback and training for staff on communications and reporting protocols. ● Serve as focal point for the media: Set up media guidelines, organize media excursions, brief the media and ensure positive publicity of FilmAid.

Qualifications and Requirements: ● Degree in management, communications or other relevant discipline ● At least 3 years experience in program implementation, preferably with a humanitarian aid organization ● External communications background, preferably in the international development sector. ● External communications and social media platforms and management, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube, Vimeo, and Tumblr ● Ability to promote a trustworthy and exemplary image of FilmAid and appropriately represent FilmAid through your work. ● Ability to create and interpret communications material and respond to incoming communications requests in a timely manner. ● Proven experience in partnership management with national and international organisations. ● Major event management skills. ● People management skills . ● Fluency in written and spoken English and Kiswahili is essential. ● Experience with principles and practice of humanitarian aid and/or development. ● Ready to work for long hours, and able to travel to hardship areas. ● Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. ● Ready to work with minimal supervision. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. ● Ability to juggle multiple priorities. ● Commitment to humanitarian principles and action. ● Ability to work with a widespread cross­cultural team.
