ASBC President Mr. Anas Alotaiba negotiated with the President of the Kyrgyz Boxing Federation Mr. Abdibakyt Khalmurzaev in Abu Dhabi

The President of the Asian Boxing Confederation (ASBC) and Vice-President of the International Boxing Association (AIBA) Mr. Anas Alotaiba had an important meeting in Abu Dhabi with the President of one of the key affiliated Asian National Federations.

Mr. Anas Alotaiba welcomed the President of the Kyrgyz Boxing Federation Mr. Abdibakyt Khalmurzaev who has been serving the Central Asian boxing power's boxing life since many years and led the country into a new era with their developments. Kyrgyzstan has got not only history in our sport but long term development program to achieve even better results in the international stage.

Their common meeting was held in Mr. Anas Alotaiba's office in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates where the Executive Director of the Asian Boxing Confederation Mr. Ali Salameh also attended in the friendly negotiations.

Mr. Abdibakyt Khalmurzaev congratulated to the Mr. Anas Alotaiba electing him as ASBC President and AIBA Vice-President in the AIBA Congress in Moscow. The President of the

Kyrgyz Boxing Federation surprised Mr. Anas Alotaiba with special national gifts from the Central Asian country.

Kyrgyzstan claimed one bronze medal in the recent two editions of the boxing tournament of the in Incheon and in Jakarta but the country is ready to win more podium places in the future. The Kyrgyz talents produced medals also in the last editions of the ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships and in the ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships.

The Kyrgyz Boxing Federation and its management has been preparing to the upcoming Duisenkul Shopokov Memorial Tournament which will be held in February 19-24. The next competition will be the 43rd edition of the Duisenkul Shopokov Memorial Tournament for the elite women and men boxers in Kyrgyzstan's capital city in Bishkek.

Mr. Duisenkul Shopokov was the hero of the who died during the Great Patriotic War at the Battle of Moscow in December 1941. The President of the Kyrgyz Boxing Federation has invited ASBC President Mr. Anas Alotaiba to attend to the upcoming Duisenkul Shopokov Memorial Tournament.

Kyrgyzstan hosts five-seven international events every year and on these competitions mainly the neighbouring countries have been attending. The management of the Kyrgyz Boxing Federation is planning to launch more competitions and a bigger international event in their long-term strategy.

The ASBC Boxing Calendar for 2019 is revealed and five Asian Championships will be held this year

The President of the Asian Boxing Confederation (ASBC) and Vice-President of the International Boxing Association (AIBA) Mr. Anas Alotaiba approved the official ASBC Boxing Calendar for 2019 which will be a busy year for our continent's boxers.

The Asian Boxing Confederation will be organizing five continental events in the current year setting up a new record. All of the age groups and both genders will have the possibility to show their talents and skills in the ring this year to raise the international experiences of our hopes and future stars.

The first continental event in 2019 will be the ASBC Asian Confederation Elite Boxing Championships in , this April. At the very first time in the history of the elite event both genders will be attending in the same time in Thailand's capital which is scheduled to take place in April 17-27.

Asian Boxing Confederation is planning to build new grassroots for the youngest boxers and August will be the date of the first edition of the ASBC Asian Confederation Schoolboys Boxing Championships. The negotiations are still under progress with the National

Federations to host this historical event where boxers who were born in 2005 and in 2006 can box for the medals.

The ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships is scheduled to take place in the United Arab Emirates in the first week of October for the 2003 and 2004 born boxers. The annual ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships for both genders and the 2001-2002 age groups will be held in from November 9 until the 19th.

ASBC Asian Confederation U22 Boxing Championships will be closing the year in the month of December. The Best Asian National Federation of the Year 2018 the Uzbekistan Boxing Federation will be hosting the first edition of the ASBC Asian Confederation U22 Boxing Championships where boxers who were born between 1997 and 2000 are eligible to attend in this historical competition.

Thailand's official Mr. Chaiwat Chotima - "We are hoping top results in 2019 following our amazing successes in 2018"

Thailand hosted several ASBC events in the recent five years in high quality and the country will be organizer of the ASBC Asian Confederation Elite Boxing Championships this April. The General Secretary of the Thailand Boxing Association Mr. Chaiwat Chotima introduced Thailand's superb successes, hospitality and their preparation for 2019.

Mr. Chaiwat Chotima is proud of Thailand’s strong development, the efforts of their young boxers and their target is to host more international competitions in the upcoming years. Thailand's management leads the Southeast Asian boxing power to continuous successes in 2019. Mr. Chaiwat Chotima presented Thailand’s big future goals and their strategic plans during an interview which was held in Bangkok.

"We had a very successful year in 2018, we are so amazed to see our young hopes to win many of medals in the big events. Our international results were the best one in 2018 in comparison to the previous years.

We had an amazing ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships in Bangkok last April where the team claimed four gold medals which were over our expectations. Our youth boxers continued their strong series in the Budapest 2018 AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships and in the Buenos Aires 2018 Youth .

This success was the result of our projects which we launched in 2013 to develop our younger generations. We focused to our junior and youth boxers a few years ago to build up a better future. We were fully confident the success of our long term projects and after five years our hard work paid off in the youth level.

We have strong strategic plans to transfer these amazing youth results to the elite level and we think 2020 will be the key year for us. Our main goal will be coming only in 2024 when all of our projects will be finalized to reach our dreams.

The Thailand International Open Boxing Tournament was not an invitational competition anymore. We opened the participation for all of the countries of the world to reach the maximum number of competitors in the event. Everything was running smoothly in all of our events following Mr. Kraitach Kaewkate and his team worked hard for the success of the competitions and they had the experiences how to make it.

We will be hosting the ASBC Asian Confederation Elite Boxing Championships for the men boxers and at the very first time for the women athletes together. The venue of the continental event will be the well-known Huamark Stadium in April.

We are planning to host the Thailand Open Boxing Tournament in July with top boxers and this time we move the event to the city center of Bangkok where we booked already the National Stadium. All of the participants will have the chance to visit our top sightseeing in Bangkok and enjoy the Thai hospitality.

We will be attending in several international competitions in the upcoming months including the Golden Girl Box Cup, the Bocskai Memorial Tournament, the Shopokov Memorial Tournament, the Strandja Memorial Tournament and many others in Asia and in Europe as well.

We will be hosting dual matches in Thailand with strong nations a few times in 2019 to raise the experiences for our bests and the younger generation. In one of our long term

9 10 projects Bangkok will be the capital of boxing as soon as our International Training Centre will be built up.

Our professionals will be managing Youth Olympic Champion Atichai Phoemsap with special preparation this year. We are hoping top results in 2019 and fully focusing to the most important year in our cycle," said Thailand Boxing Association's General Secretary Mr. Chaiwat Chotima in Bangkok.

Uzbekistan’s first ever National Sport Award was held in the Palace of International Forums of Uzbekistan. Uzbekistan Boxing Federation reached strong successes in the ceremonies, four of their stars and officials won titles in the Awarding Event.

The event was a big show in Tashkent where sport stars, Olympic champions, celebrities, media persons and representatives of the sport organizations gathered in the Ceremony. Among the 17 nominations Uzbekistan Boxing Federation had four winners in Tashkent.

The Best Sport Patron of the Year Award was gone to Mr. Achilbay Ramatov who is the President of the Uzbekistan Boxing Federation and he has also strong connections to football and other businesses.

Mr. Marat Kurbanov is one of the most experienced coaches in Uzbekistan and in the Asian continent who received the Best Coach of the Year Award. Mr. Kurbanov worked in the national team already in the '90s and his pupils won high number of medals in the recent two and half decades. Mr. Kurbanov turned to 65 in the recent days and celebrated his birthday with the officials of the Uzbekistan Boxing Federation.

Uzbekistan's 18-year-old super talented Abdumalik Khalokov earned the gold medals in the big three youth events of 2018 at the Buenos Aires , at the Budapest AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships and at the Bangkok ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships. Khalokov received the Best Youth and Most Promising Sportsman Award in Tashkent during the ceremonies.

Uzbekistan's legendary boxer, the 69-year-old Mr. Rufat Riskiyev, who claimed gold medal at the Havana 1974 AIBA World Boxing Championships and silver at the Montreal 1976 Olympic Games, won the Faithful Service of the Sport Trophy in the Awarding Ceremony.

The President of the Boxing Association of Sri Lanka Mr. Dian Gomes donated boxing equipments the Nuwara Eliya regional team in Colombo in his office. The Boxing Association of Sri Lanka has long term projects to develop boxing from the grassroots and also the high performance team with more international events. Their main strategic goal is to get medal in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games in boxing.

Mr. Dian Gomes is one of the most active officials in the Asian continent who works also as coach in the ringside with the Sri Lankan national team. Their squad claimed record number of three bronze medals in the Gold Coast 2018 which makes them national heroes in each part of the beautiful country. Among them Anusha Kodituwakku attended in the 2018 AIBA Women's World Boxing Championships which was her last event during her long and successful career.

Nuwara Eliya is located in the hill country of the Central Province and its name means the city of light in Sinhalese. Nuwara Eliya is known from its world class tea plantations, temperate climate which makes the city to the coolest area in whole Sri Lanka. The region is in the position to develop boxing in the school level and Boxing Association of Sri Lanka gave them full support to their training facilities.

Mr. Dian Gomes donated the boxing schools of the Nuwara Eliya Educational Zone with new boxing equipments which included gloves and head guards for the development of the young talents. The officials arranged a brief Ceremony at the headquarters of the Boxing Association of Sri Lanka in Colombo.

Mr Lenny Hagland the Chairman and Mr Mohan Samarasinghe of England-based Islington Boxing Cub are the main facilitators of sponsoring boxing equipment for the Boxing Association of Sri Lanka.

The equipment was donated to Mr. Susantha Weerasena the Assistant Director of Education to facilitate the ongoing three months coaching course for 25 selected School Physical training Instructors in Nuwara Eliya Educational zone. Weerasena said that this donation will be a turning point as this is the first time in boxing history where Nuwara Eliya Zone will be provided with better gears to conduct training of future boxers.

Mr Dian Gomes the President of the Boxing Association of Sri Lanka, stated during the brief ceremony held in the Office of Boxing Association that the Boxing Association of Sri Lanka is in the forefront to support the development of School boxing in the Island.

Five of our stars won their contests in the historical Europe vs. Asia Dual Match in Prague

A historical dual match was held between the two top continents in the world's boxing life when Europe met with Asia in Prague this weekend. Among Asia's stars Vietnam's Nguyen Thi Tam, Japan’s Sana Kawano, ' Eumir Felix Marcial, Uzbekistan’s Dilshodbek Ruzmetov and Jordan's Hussein Iashaish won their contests in the Dual Match.

The competition was held in the capital city of the Czech Republic in Prague where Mr. Pavel Hynek was the engine to realize the Dual Match involving strong sponsors to the Gala Match. ASBC PR & Communication Director Mr. Tibor Kincses supported to accomplish their goals as the matchmaker of the Europe vs. Asia Dual Match.

Altogether three women and seven men contests were held including the two prebouts in Prague between the two continents. The Asian female and male squad contained 10 boxers from 9 different nations such as Iraq, Japan, Jordan, , Mongolia, Philippines, Thailand, Uzbekistan and Vietnam.

Vietnam’s reigning ASBC Asian Women's Champion Nguyen Thi Tam is one of the best female (51kg) boxers in the whole globe and she was too strong for Jana Prokesova in the Czech capital. Another women's flyweight (51kg) bout was also held in the Europe vs.

Asia Dual Match and Japan's new sensation 22-year-old Sana Kawano dominated her fight against Petra Lastovkova.

Philippines' ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships silver medallist Eumir Felix Marcial demonstrated his power against Czech National Champion Milos Bartl and won the (75kg) in the Dual Match. Marcial landed high number of clean shots and one of his combinations were lethal in the third round which decided their contest.

Uzbekistan's AIBA Junior World Boxing Championships silver medallist 19-year-old Dilshodbek Ruzmetov is a superb talent at the light (81kg) who had to do his very best to beat ’s EUBC European U22 Champion Paul Andrei Aradoaie. The final verdict was split decision to the Uzbek teenager who could be a new sensation in 2019.

Jordan's Rio 2016 Olympic Games quarter-finalist and ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships bronze medallist Hussein Iashaish has moved down to the heavyweight (91kg) in the recent one year. The 24-year-old boxer impressed the local crowd with his strong combinations and following that the referee stopped their bout in the second round when he met with Jiri Havel.

Thailand's AIBA World Boxing Championships bronze medallist veteran Chatchai Butdee had a seriously close bout at the (56kg) against France’s Jordan Rodriguez but his European opponent’s hand was raised after the final bell. Mongolia's duo Asian Games winner Erdenebat Tsendbaatar and Rio 2016 Olympian Chinzorig Baatarsukh met with world class boxers and their contests against France’s AIBA World Champion Sofiane Oumiha and ’s EUBC European Champion Hovhannes Bachkov were spectacular ones.

The 11th edition of the AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships will be held in Ulan-Ude, Russia on October 3-13

The next edition of the AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships will be held in the city of Ulan-Ude, Russia from October 3 until the 13th following the Russian Boxing Federation's and the International Boxing Association's (AIBA) official communication.

The upcoming AIBA Women's World Boxing Championships will be the 11th edition of the female elite competition and will be returning to Russia after 2005 when the city of Podolsk hosted the tournament.

Asia claimed eight gold medals out of the possible 10 in the last edition in New Delhi, a few months ago and became the most successful continent in New Delhi. The most successful boxer of the whole female boxing India's Chungneijang Hmangte achieved her sixth title in New Delhi last November breaking all previous records.

Asia had 36 boxers at the quarter-final stage and among them 21 athletes from 9 nations received medals in the event which is more than 50% of all podium places. Twelve of our boxers were able to fight for the titles in New Delhi and among them eight won the gold medals. China achieved four titles and topped the team rankings, Chinese Taipei secured at the very first time two gold medals, India and DPR Korea both earned one title.

Altogether 277 boxers from 62 countries attended in the AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships in New Delhi. The Asian continent competed with 90 boxers in the AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships from the following 16 nations: Bangladesh, China, Indonesia, India, Japan, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Mongolia, Nepal, Philippines, DPR Korea, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Tajikistan, Chinese Taipei and Uzbekistan.

Vietnam could not attend in the last edition of the AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships in New Delhi due their National Championships but their management is planning to send their strong female squad to Ulan-Ude.

Jordan’s Zeyad Eshaish won the Al-Baqaa International Tournament where Ihab Al-Matbouli returned to the boxing world

The Leader Al-Baqaa International Boxing Tournament was Asia's next international activity in the busy year of 2019 which event was held in Jordan. The host nation’s Asian Games bronze medallist Zeyad Eshaish won the middleweight (75kg) before his veteran teammate 2013 ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships silver medallist Ihab Darweish Al-Matbouli returned to the world of boxing with a gold medal.

Altogether 44 boxers from six Western Asian countries attended in the Al-Baqaa International Boxing Tournament which is a new competition in the Asian boxing map. Jordan's best boxer heavyweight (91kg) star Hussein Iashaish was invited to attend in the Europe vs. Asia Dual Match in Prague, Czech Republic and he had to miss the Leader Al-Baqaa International Boxing Tournament.

The hard work of the Jordan Association paid off in the recent years, their first breakthrough was their participation in the London 2012 Olympic Games. The main input to Jordan's boxing life was the Amman 2013 ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships on home soil. Two of their boxers qualified for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and their goal is to achieve even more in the upcoming year.

Yemen is a developing boxing country which hosted their National Championships two months ago and their best ones have been selected to compete in the Al-Baqaa International Boxing Tournament in two different teams. Their top future talent 19-year-old Sil Ghaleb Mohammed Al-Qarnas won his (49kg) final against Jordan’s Suheib Eshaish who abandoned their fight.

Iraq’s Amman 2013 ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships bronze medallist Murtadha Raad Qasim Al-Sudani returned to the world of boxing and he was slightly better than Jordan’s 20-year-old Yousef Eshaish in the final of the flyweight (52kg). Jordan’s Mohammad Adnan Abu Jajeh was involved to the national elite team in 2016 and he proved his strength in the final of the bantamweight (56kg) against Hashem Alawneh.

Yemen’s Youth National Champion teenage hope Nasem Hussain Al-Qathi eliminated Jordan’s Adel Darweish Al-Matbouli in the semi-final of the (60kg) which was a surprise and continued his winning path against Yemen’s Abdalalem Othman in the final. Palestine’s lone gold medal was achieved by Nizar Hadedoun who walked over to the title against Jordan’s Ahmad Al-Matbouli.

Iraq’s Sahm Qarrar Kadhim Al-Ezirej achieved silver medal at the Astana 2011 AIBA Junior World Boxing Championships and in the recent years he shined in the elite level as well. He had a tough semi-final against Lebanon’s 19-year-old Hasan Mostafa El-Zaino and another hectic final with Jordan’s National Champion and former Youth National Champion Osama Khamies. The final verdict was split decision to Al-Ezirej who won the (69kg) in the international event.

Rio 2016 Olympic Games quarter-finalist Hussein Eshaish’s younger brother 20-year-old Zeyad Eshaish is the current Arab Champion and achieved bronze at the Jakarta 2018 Asian Games proving his strong development. Jordan’s young talent moved up to the middleweight (75kg) in this event but he was better than his teammate Thaher Al-Nobani in Al-Baqaa.

Jordan’s another future hope Mohammad Younis attended in the Budapest 2018 AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships and showed his potential as a teenage talent last year. The 18- year-old boxer impressed and defeated Iraq’s more experienced Jasem Kadhem in the final of the (81kg).

Iraq’s former ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships competitor Aqeel Jabbar Mamoon claimed silver medal in the Damascus International Boxing Tournament one

18 19 and half year ago and returned with strong performance. The 24-year-old Iraqi boxer triumphed over Jordan’s Yousef Al-Nobani and won the gold of the heavyweight (91kg).

Jordan’s Ihab Darweish Al-Matbouli attended already in the Chicago 2007 AIBA World Boxing Championships and his career highlight was a silver medal from the Amman 2013 ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships. The veteran boxer returned at the (+91kg) and knocked out Jordan’s Bader Abu Roman in the fist round.

The Al-Baqaa International Boxing Tournament will be supporting the boxers to prepare well to the upcoming Arab Boxing Championships and the ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships.

The 10th anniversary edition of the Golden Girl Box Cup continued with its third and final competition day in Boras, Sweden where altogether 254 boxers from 23 nations are competing for the medals. Chinese Taipei and Thailand sent boxers to the 10th edition of the Golden Girl Box Cup at the very first time in the history of the competition and among their talents four of them won the gold medals in Boras including Chinese Taipei’s AIBA World Champion Chen Nien Chin.

Thailand’s 17-year-old Nillada Meekoon claimed silver medal in the Budapest 2018 AIBA Women’s Youth World Boxing Championships and also in the Bangkok 2018 ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships. Thailand’s top talent is still in the youth age group in 2019 and proved her top skills in the quarter-final of the light flyweight (48kg) when she eliminated France’s Rim Bennama.

Thailand’s pride continued her winning path in the semi-final against Spain’s Maria Angeles Gonzales in Boras. Her triumph meant that the dream final against Ireland’s EUBC European Women’s Youth Champion Daina Moorehouse has realized in the Golden Girl Box Cup. The Thai girl found her best rhythm in the second part of the first round and Moorehouse was not

20 21 able to answer her attacks. Meekoon’s left handed hooks worked well in the second round and defeated once again her Irish rival on their re-match.

Thailand’s Youth Olympic Games winner Panpatchara Somnuek eliminated Denmark’s Sascha Bogeskov in the semi-final with top performance. The 17-year-old Thai talent had to meet in the final with Ireland’s EUBC European Junior Champion Lauren Dempsey which was a top final on Day3. Asia’s youth No.1 at the (57kg) Somnuek controlled the first two rounds against her attacking European rival and her style was effective. Dempsey raised her level in the third but Thailand’s hope was able to keep her advantage.

Thailand’s third gold medal was achieved by ASBC Asian Confederation Women’s Youth Boxing Championships silver medallist Baison Manikon who had a hard final at the welterweight (69kg) against England’s Ellouise Challenger. The Thai boxer used her longer reach to keep the safest distance against her smaller European rival in the first round. Manikon was a bit tired in the third round but her stamina was enough to beat her English rival in the last youth final of the Golden Girl Box Cup.

Chinese Taipei’s best youth boxer Huang Yu Ting competed at the very first time out of her country. She eliminated the defending champion France’s Lorye Ruyer in the quarter-final of the lightweight (60kg) and the 17-year-old Huang continued her tough performance against another top European opponent Sweden’s Thelma Sagerfeldt-Eskilsson who won the Silesian Women’s Open Junior Tournament last September. Huang was not able to repeat her previous performance and Finland’s AIBA Women’s Youth World Boxing Championships quarter- finalist Vilma Viitanen won the title in Boras.

Chinese Taipei’s defending AIBA Women’s World Champion at the welterweight (69kg) Chen Nien Chin was too strong for Sweden’s Marianna Ahlborg in their semi-final on Day2. The 21-year-old Chen, who was Olympian in Rio de Janeiro, landed strong uppercuts and hooks in the final of the event against Norway’s Madeleine Angelsen. Chen was confident once again, moved ahead more from the opening seconds of the second round and tried to destroy Angelsen’s defence. Chen dominated all of the rounds in their final and celebrated the gold medal in Boras and she became the Golden Girl in the 10th edition.

The 2nd edition of the Indian Open International Boxing Tournament will be held in Guwahati on May 20-24

The second edition of the strong Indian Open International Boxing Tournament was planning to be held for the elite women and men boxers in the city of Guwahati, in February 5-9 but Boxing Federation of India decided to postpone the event. The new date of the 2nd Indian Open International Boxing Tournament will be on May 20-24 in the same venue.

The 2nd Indian Open International Boxing Tournament will be held for the women's elite and men's elite boxers in Guwahati this May after the ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships. The competition will be supported the boxers to prepare well to the upcoming AIBA Women's World Boxing Championships and AIBA Men's World Boxing Championships.

The city of Guwahati hosted the 2017 edition of the AIBA Women's Youth World Boxing Championships 13 months ago where India earned record number of five gold medals. Guwahati is the host again in a top international competition and Assam region's biggest city is ready to welcome Asia's top boxers on May.

The first edition of the Indian Open International Boxing Tournament was held in New Delhi in January 2018 which was a preparation event for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games and for the Jakarta 2018 Asian Games.

Altogether 18 champions have been crowned in the historical first edition in New Delhi one year ago. India achieved eight gold medals in the tournament but Uzbekistan was able to get also five titles in the Open Tournament where several surprises were delivered by young future hopes in 2018.

Uzbekistan won all of the gold medals in the Tashkent International Junior Tournament

The first international junior tournament of the year was held in the Uzbek capital in Tashkent where fifteen young winners celebrated their titles after the finals. Uzbekistan won all of the 15 gold medals and among their top future hopes Islombek Ganiyev, Asrorbek Shakhobiddinov, No.1 Login Petrov and Jakhongir Zokirov remained unbeaten following their national events.

Boxers who were born in 2003 and in 2004 were eligible to attend in the International Junior Tournament in Tashkent. More than 180 boxers attended in 15 different weight classes from the 42kg category up to the heavyweight (+80kg) in Tashkent. Besides to the official 13 junior categories the local organizers added the 42kg and 44kg weight classes to give chance to all of their young hopes to compete in an international tournament.

The first gold medal was achieved by Tashkent's Junior National Cup bronze medallist Jakhongir Egamberdiyev who was slightly better than Bakhtiyor Asadov in the final of the 42kg . Karakalpakstan is Uzbekistan's region and their new hope Madiyar Doniyorov, who has got strong family connections to boxing, defeated Bukhara's Jonibek Avezov in the second final of the event.

Ferghana's Junior National Cup winner Islombek Ganiyev eliminated Khorezm's Azizbek Yuldashev in a close semi-final and he was better than Bukhara's Mukhammadali Akhmadov in the final of the pinweight (46kg). Andizhan is famous of its boxing schools and their hope Junior National Cup winner Asrorbek Shakhobiddinov had a strong success against Ferghana's Jamshid Sadikov in the quarter-final and Samarkand's Asliddin Bobokulov in the title bout of the light flyweight (48kg).

Tashkent's Bakhtiyor Zukhrullayev eliminated Asilkhon Anvarboyev in a hectic semi-final and he used his attacking style to beat Andizhan's Nodirbek Soyipov in their respective final. Andizhan's second gold medal in the event was achieved by Junior National Cup winner Jokhonmurod Imamaliyev who controlled his final over Navoy's Timur Radjabov at the light bantamweight (52kg).

Khorezm's Diyorbek Navruzov is a new face but he was able to beat the favourite, Ferghana's Jamshidbek Siddikov in the final of the bantamweight (54kg) while Tajikistan's Abdurakhmon Yokubov failed his quarter-final bout in Tashkent. Ferghana's Diyorbek Mukhammadjonov had excellent stamina in the final against Murod Kudratov and celebrated his title at the featherweight (57kg).

Karakalpakstan's second gold medal was achieved by Temirkhan Makhsetbayev who stopped Tajikistan's lone finalist in the event Usmonjon Kayumov at the lightweight (60kg). Andizhan's next title was taken by Mirzamakhmet Mirzabekov who outpointed Ferghana's Kamronbek Turgunboyev in the final of the (63kg).

Navoy's No.1 Login Petrov could be a superb future star in Uzbekistan who already bagged medals in the international junior events in 2018 and he was too strong for Ferghana's Asadbek Safarov. Petrov won his third tournament title within three months and could be a strong favourite also in the 2019 ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships.

Dzhizak's Junior National Cup bronze medallist Azizbek Ermatov defeated Ferghana's two best boxers in the (70kg) as Murod Tursunov and Fazliddin Dekhkonov in the competition. Junior National Cup winner Rustambek Tokhirov controlled the final of the middleweight (75kg) over Sarvar Sobirov and claimed his next title.

Tashkent's Abdullo Solikhov had two close contests in the final stage of the light heavyweight (80kg) but he was able to win both of them against Khorezm's Akbarbek Shonazarov and Ferghana's Asadbek Umarov. Dzhizak's Jakhongir Zokirov won the gold medal in the Uzbekistan Junior National Cup and following his narrow success over Karakalpakstan's Ali Nuranov in the semi-final, he dominated the final against Namangan's Samandar Sobirjonov.

Nepal's Tej Bahadur Deuba and Deepak Shrestha won their finals by KO in the Indramaya Maharjan Memorial Invitational Championships

The first edition of the Indramaya Maharjan Memorial Invitational Boxing Championships was held in the city of Chandragiri, Nepal where four women and seven men winners have been crowned. Nepal's best boxers such as Lalita Maharjan, Sangita Sunar, Tej Bahadur Deuba and Deepak Shrestha won their weight classes in the historical event.

Nepal will be hosting the next edition of the and the country is even more active in the international boxing stage and launched a new event. The Indramaya Maharjan Memorial Invitational Boxing Championships was one of the first international events in

2019. For the Asian boxers there will be long road in the international competitions in the busy year of 2019 before their main targets.

The organizer of the Indramaya Maharjan Memorial Invitational Boxing Championships was the Boshigaun Sports Club. Nepal's last Asian Games medallist in boxing Mr. Deepak Maharjan is the President of the Boshigaun Sports Club who worked hard to realize this international boxing event.

Host Nepal, Bhutan and India attended in the historical first edition of the Indramaya Maharjan Memorial Invitational Boxing Championships. Nepal represented the event with two teams, India sent their top boxers from the Haryana region while Bhutan's best athletes also attended in the event.

Four women's weight classes were held in the Indramaya Maharjan Memorial Invitational Boxing Championships: light flyweight (48kg), flyweight (51kg), bantamweight (54kg) and lightweight (60kg). The men boxers were able to attend in seven weight categories from the light flyweight (49kg) up to the middleweight (75kg).

Each weight category had four athletes at the Indramaya Maharjan Memorial Invitational Boxing Championships in Chandragiri. The top three boxers in all women and men weight categories won money prizes of Rs. 15,000, Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 5,000 following the finals besides to their medals.

Nepal's first gold medal in the Indramaya Maharjan Memorial Invitational Boxing Championships was achieved by Lalita Maharjan who defeated Bhutan's No.1 Tandin Lhamo as well during her road to the title of the light flyweight (48kg). Bimala Shrestha also had international experiences and she was able to beat her teammate Mala Rai by split decision in the final of the women's flyweight (51kg).

Minu Gurung was slightly better than the favourite of the women's bantamweight (54kg) Nisha Tamang and won the category which was a small surprise in the Indramaya Maharjan Memorial Invitational Boxing Championships. The fourth woman's gold medal was taken by Asian Games participant Sangita Sunar who defeated ASBC Asian Confederation Women's Boxing Championships competitor Punam Rawal in the final of the lightweight (60kg).

Following experienced Puran Rai's gold medal at the bantamweight (56kg), Bhutan's lone title was achieved by ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships quarter-finalist Nima Dorji who defeated Nepal's Ek Bahadur Ghale in the final. The following three male titles were taken by Bhupendra Thapa Magar (64kg), Bikash Lama (69kg) and experienced Deepak Shrestha who knocked out Rabi Sunar in the final of the middleweight (75kg).

Kyzaibay and Nurshayeva on the top of the Galym Zharylgapov Memorial Tournament

The Galym Zharylgapov Memorial Tournament is a traditionally strong competition in Kazakhstan where high number of stars attended for the available 15 gold medals. Kazakhstan's two-time AIBA Women's World Champion Nazym Kyzaibay and ASBC Asian Woman Boxer of the Year 2017 Madina Nurshayeva both won their categories in the Galym Zharylgapov Memorial Tournament.

Karagandy is located in the Northern part of Kazakhstan and famous of its boxing traditions and schools. China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Mongolia, Russia, and Uzbekistan are general participants in the Galym Zharylgapov Memorial Tournament. Thailand also joined to the competition with women and men boxers as well in spite of the fact their athletes had to acclimatize to cold winter circumstances.

The flyweight (51kg) delivered powerful bouts in the Galym Zharylgapov Memorial Tournament which was won by two-time AIBA Women's World Champion Nazym Kyzaibay who defeated National Champion Alua Balkybekova in the final. Two young hopes such as Thailand's Chiranchaya Phunsang and Mongolia's Enkhjargal Munguntsetseg took bronze medals in Karagandy.

Kazakhstan's Madina Nurshayeva claimed gold medal at the Ho Chi Minh City 2017 ASBC Asian Confederation Women's Boxing Championships. Following her successes over Tajikistan's ASBC Asian Confederation Women's Youth Boxing Championships silver medallist Idimokh Kholova and Uzbekistan's 19-year-old Shakhnoza Yunusova, she took the title of the women's welterweight (69kg) in Karagandy.

Kazakhstan's former AIBA Women's World Boxing Championships competitor Anastasia Rylina eliminated Uzbekistan's National Champion Mavluda Mavlonova in the semi-final of the women's middleweight (75kg). The 23-year-old boxer controlled her final over Mongolia's Munkhbat Myagmarjargal who won a tough contest at the New Delhi 2018 AIBA Women's World Boxing Championships last November.

The first gold medal of the men part of the Galym Zharylgapov Memorial Tournament was achieved by Thailand's Wuttichai Yurachai who defeated Kazakhstan's Askar Kaysar in the final of the light flyweight (49kg). Kyrgyzstan's ASBC Asian Champion Azat Usenaliev eliminated Kazakhstan's teenage talent Talgat Syrymbetov and Thailand's Yuttapong Tongdee during his road to the gold medal at the flyweight (52kg).

Kazakhstan's Aydos Arapov was bronze medallist at the Pavlodar 2016 ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships and the 20-year-old talent won the final of the bantamweight (56kg) following his success over Zhandos Sheraly. Another young Kazakh hope Yergesh Orazkhan defeated ASBC Asian Youth Champion Vasiliy Samchuk and claimed the title of the lightweight (60kg).

Torgynbek Amirov is a relatively unknown Kazakh boxer but he eliminated Thailand's Bunjong Sinsiri in the semi-final and he was slightly better than experienced Nurbol Sultanbay for the gold medal. Sultan Sharshov delivered a small surprise in the final of the welterweight (69kg) when de defeated Pavlodar 2016 ASBC Asian Youth Champion Ayatulla Takizhanov who could not use his height advantage well.

Kazakhstan's 2017 middleweight (75kg) National Champion Abay Tolesh walked over to the title in Karagandy against ASBC Asian Junior Champion Vladislav Stolbovskiy while Kyrgyzstan's Ilyaz Akmataliyev claimed bronze medal. Yerdos Nurkali had strong stamina

Kazakhstan's former Youth National Champion Ontalap Rakhmanov is only 20 but he had enough power to beat China's Abdurashit at the heavyweight (91kg). China's another Xinjiang-based boxer Bayikewuzi Danabieke stopped Kazakhstan's Rustem Bayeshev and Arman Aydarkhanov in the final stages of the super heavyweight (+91kg).

Kazakhstan won half dozen of gold medals in the traditional Nations Women's Cup in Serbia

Kazakhstan topped the team rankings and the medal standings at the 8th edition of the Nations Women's Cup in Sombor, Serbia with amazing performance. Their 12 gold medals came out from their junior, youth and elite teams in Sombor and Kazakhstan took over Russia, Serbia, , Germany and all other nations in this European event.

The Nations Women's Cup was held for the elite, youth, junior and schoolgirls age groups in Serbia where 177 boxers attended for the available 31 gold medals. The Nations Women's Cup is traditionally a strong international competition which opens the year for the female athletes and supported their preparation for the main events.

Finally 31 winners could celebrate their titles in Sombor and among them Kazakhstan claimed fantastic 12 gold medals in the prestigious competition. Their first gold medallist was Zhibek Zharaskyzy at the junior welterweight (66kg) and following that her teammates such as Aizaryk Sherikhan (70kg) and Kseniya Dreval (+80kg) continued their successes. 33 34 year-old Kazakh talents proved that they are ready to get strong results in the international stage in 2019.

AIBA Women's Youth World Boxing Championships bronze medallist Anel Kudaybergen won Kazakhstan's first youth title following her success over Serbia's Ivana Podkonjak at the light flyweight (48kg). Kazakhstan's 16-year-old Anel Sakysh joined to the youth national squad this January but she dominated all of her fights including Serbia's Dajana Grmusa in the final of the flyweight (51kg).

A fantastic contest was held between Youth National Champion Mariya Gladkova and ASBC Asian Confederation Women's Youth Boxing Championships silver medallist Yerkezhan Dauletzhankyzy in the final of the youth featherweight (57kg). The Kazakh home match was finished by Gladkova's success who has done a revenge due her previous loss in December. The fourth Kazakh title among the youth boxers was taken by Balzhan Askar at the light welterweight (64kg).

Kazakhstan impressed in the elite level as well, their boxers claimed five gold medals in the Nations Women's Cup. Firstly Alua Balkybekova defeated Russia's Yulia Chumgalakova at the light flyweight (48kg). Kazakhstan's 21-year-old Angelina Lukas delivered one of the biggest sensations of the whole Nations Women's Cup when she defeated two-time AIBA Women's World Champion Nazym Kyzaibay in the final of the flyweight (51kg).

Kazakhstan's two further AIBA Women's World Champions such as Dina Zholaman and Lazzat Kungeibayeva both won their weight classes after beating Hungary's Szabina Szucs and Russia's Aleksandra Dmitriyeva. Rimma Volosenko returned to the national team after a few months of break and defeated Croatia's Sara Beram in the final of the lightweight (60kg).

Besides to Kazakhstan another Asian boxing power the Uzbek delegation also won a gold medal which was their first ever title in the history of the Nations Women's Cup. Sabina Bobokulova won international competitions in Kazakhstan in the recent months and the 15- year-old talent controlled all of her contests at the junior light flyweight (48kg) in Sombor.

The Khayrutdinov Women's Youth & Junior Memorial Tournament was held in Almaty which was the former capital city of Kazakhstan. The most experienced youth boxers of the host country such as Anel Kudaybergen, Yerkezhan Dauletzhankyzy, Maya Beysebayeva and Gulsaya Yerzhan were the bests besides to the Uzbek gold medallists.

Almaty organized the AIBA World Boxing Championships for the men's elite boxers in 2013 and the city is the traditional host of the Khayrutdinov Memorial Tournament. Kazakhstan achieved plenty of medals in the women's youth international competitions in 2018 including Dina Islambekova's gold at the Budapest 2018 AIBA Women's Youth World Boxing Championships.

Altogether more than 150 athletes including 67 youth and 86 junior boxers attended in the Khayrutdinov Women's Youth & Junior Memorial Tournament in Almaty. Uzbekistan's best female youth and junior boxers also attended in the competition besides to all regions of Kazakhstan in Almaty.

Anel Kudaybergen achieved bronze medal in the Bangkok 2018 ASBC Asian Confederation Women's Youth Boxing Championships and she repeated that performance in the Budapest 2018 AIBA Women's Youth World Boxing Championships as well. The 17-year-old talent defeated Dzhambul region's Mariya Kudikina and won the first youth title at the light flyweight (48kg) in Almaty.

Almaty's Anel Sakysh is 16 but her skills were enough to dominate her final at the women's flyweight (51kg) over Aiym Zhumabay which bout was stopped by the referee in the second round. Almaty's Karina Ayzakhmetova, who attended in Ukrainian and Bulgarian international events, won the Khayrutdinov Memorial Tournament two years ago and she repeated that performance following her close success over Moldir Toikova.

Yerkezhan Dauletzhankyzy earned a valuable silver medal in the Bangkok 2018 ASBC Asian Confederation Women's Youth Boxing Championships but she had to meet with another national team member Almaty's Maria Gladkova in the final of the featherweight (57kg). The 17-year-old Dauletzhankyzy impressed in their final and maintained the best fighting distance successfully against her strong rival.

Astana's Dilnaz Yerbolova is not an experienced boxer but she was able to beat Almaty region's Dilnaz Bayzak in the final of the lightweight (60kg) winning the bout by RSC. The

36 37 next title was achieved by Dzhambul region's Youth National Championships silver medallist Balzhan Askar who was too experienced to Almaty region's Ulzhanay Mamutova.

Shymkent's Maya Beysebayeva achieved silver medal in the Bangkok 2018 ASBC Asian Confederation Women's Youth Boxing Championships this April therefore her success over Akerke Agikova was not a surprise. Astana's Aray Musina had to meet in the final of the youth middleweight (75kg) with Uzbekistan's 16-year-old Khadija Abdullayeva but her neighbouring rival was too strong for her.

Almaty's Eldana Talipova won the Golden Girl Junior Box Cup in Sweden and she ranked No.2 in the voting of the Best of the Asians but she was not enough experienced yet to beat Youth National Champion Gulsaya Yerzhan in the final of the light heavyweight (81kg). Dzhambul region's Zhanat Nursultankyzy won the title of the Khayrutdinov Memorial Tournament in 2016 and she repeated that success after beating Kyzyl-Orda's Asel Sagatova in the final of the heavyweight (+80kg).

Afghanistan Boxing Federation named its new head coach Mr. Ajmal Omarzade was officially appointed

Afghanistan Boxing Federation named its new head coach and their President Mr. Abdullah Sattari officially appointed Mr. Ajmal Omarzade in the recent days to lead the country's boxing life into a new direction. His experiences in Sweden could be the way of the success for Afghanistan's boxing team in the near future.

Afghanistan Boxing Federation signed two-year contract with Mr. Ajmal Omarzade to prepare their elite team for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and for the other main competitions such as the ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships which will be held in Bangkok this April.

Mr. Ajmal Omarzade was born in Afghanistan but his family moved to Sweden when he was only 6. He began his boxing career in Sweden two years later at the age of 8 and attended high number of competitions as a boxer. He became Swedish National Boxing Champion at the welterweight (69kg) and he is medallists from several other events.

As a coach he supported many of the Swedish talents to reach their goals and worked as head coach with the national team in 2018. His Swedish elite team worked well in the strong Republic of Kazakhstan President's Cup last June where their Love Holgersson claimed the gold medal in Astana.

"I will try to take advantage of promises made by the Afghanistan Boxing Federation that they will give me the power to do so. I can bring this country to my experiences from Sweden where I worked in the recent years and we could get successes in the Gee Bee Tournament and also in the Republic of Kazakhstan President's Cup.

As far as I have seen in the recent days Afghanistan has a lot of talent in the elite level in each category. I feel good because I have been away from my country for many years and now I was given the chance to serve my country this way," said the new head coach of the Afghan boxing team Mr. Ajmal Omarzade.

Afghanistan Boxing Federation hosted its NSB Course in Kabul

Afghanistan Boxing Federation organized their first National Series of Boxing Course in their capital city in Kabul. AIBA 3-star Coach Mr. Abdulhai Azizpour is the Instructor of the Course which started on January and the five-day long educational program will be finished this weekend on January 20.

There are 50 participants in the National Course which was sponsored by the Afghanistan Boxing Federation and the Afghanistan government. Afghanistan Boxing Federation organized more education courses in the recent one and half year to raise the knowledge of their coaches, officials and referees.

Their national events were held with the participation of hundreds of boxers from all regions in 2018 which shows their potential for the future. Afghanistan's team attended at the Bangkok 2018 ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships and at the Jakarta 2018 Asian Games.

According to the officials of the Afghanistan Boxing Federation their management is planning to send big delegations and several boxers to each of the five ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships in 2019.

Their women national boxing team was formed in 2010 in spite of the circumstances in the country and Afghanistan Boxing Federation is proud of the fact their female talents attended in several AIBA and ASBC events in the recent years.

Mizuki Hiruta won the most difficult category at the Japanese Women’s National Championships in Nagasaki

The 17th edition of the Japanese Women’s National Championships was held in the city of Nagasaki where 14 winners celebrated their titles after the finals. Japan has got amazing boxers at the women’s flyweight (51kg) and among their promising stars Mizuki Hiruta won the gold medal in that key division.

Japan’s woman team claimed two bronze medals in the New Delhi 2018 AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships after their younger talents shined in the Budapest 2018 AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships. The youth boxers attended in seven different weight classes in Nagasaki while the elites also had seven categories in the event.

The first title of the whole event was captured by High School Selection Tournament silver medallist Yuka Sadamatsu who defeated Honoka Kobayashi in the final of the youth

41 42 pinweight (45kg) in Nagasaki. The biggest surprise of the youth competition was delivered by Hikaru Shinokara who defeated the super favourite of the light flyweight (48kg) Misaki Nasu in the title contest.

The most popular division was the flyweight (51kg) among the youth boxers where 20 athletes fought for the title which was won by High School Selection Tournament Bronze medallist Karen Yasumura following her success over Sakina Nakata. Makoto Koga is a talented youth boxer and took her national title in Nagasaki after beating Serina Hoshino in the final of the youth bantamweight (54kg).

Mona Kimura won the fifth title of the youth event defeating unanimously Moe Hoshino at the featherweight (57kg). Rinka Tanaka dominated the youth lightweight (60kg) and stopped Minami Takahashi in the final of the event spending less than one round in the ring. The last youth title was taken by Runa Maeda who was too strong for Koyuki Sumiyoshi in the final of the light welterweight (64kg).

Following the youth competition, the elite boxers also boxed in the National Championships which was a milestone for them before the main goals in 2019. Satoko Nakata never claimed any gold medals but bronze in the previous editions of the National Championships but this time she was better than all of her rivals including Risa Nakata in the final of the light flyweight (48kg).

The flyweight (51kg) was the most difficult category in the elite competition where Japan’s AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships bronze medallists such as 20-year-old Tsukimi Namiki and Madoka Wada were not able to get through to the finals. The gold medal of the category was won by Republic of Kazakhstan President’s Cup silver medallist Mizuki Hiruta who had a world class final and triumph over National Sports Festival winner Sana Kawano in Nagasaki.

The bantamweight (54kg) gold medal was taken by 19-year-old Saya Hamamoto who stopped Rika Iwata in the final. Japan’s teenage talent 18-year-old Sena Irie claimed bronze medal at the Guwahati 2017 AIBA Women’s Youth World Boxing Championships and she impressed in 2018 but her success over Tomoko Kugimiya in the semi-final was a small surprise. Irie continued her winning path in the final of the featherweight (57kg) and did not give any chance to Orie Kitagawa.

Hinami Yanai received the right to attend in the New Delhi 2018 AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships which was her first big international event. The 22-year-old talent was slightly better in the semi-final than Mai Kito and controlled her final at the lightweight (60kg) against Honoka Misaka.

Ayaka Taguchi is not a well-experienced boxer in Japan but she won the light welterweight (64kg) following her success over Yuri Yamazaki and defended her throne. The welterweight (69kg) is not a general category in Japan but the crowd could watch a strong fight which was won by 2017 National Championships silver medallist Makoto Kikuchi against Eri Kaneko.

Experienced boxers as Pinky Jangra, Meena Kumari, Sonia Lather and Pooja Rani regained their thrones in the Indian Women’s National Championships

The Indian Women’s National Boxing Championships was held in the city of Toranagallu which is located in the southern state of Karnataka. India's experienced women elite boxers such as Pinky Jangra Rani, Maisnam Meena Kumari Devi, Pooja Rani and Sonia Lather Singh regained their national titles in Toranagallu.

Boxing Federation of India hosted the AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships in New Delhi last November and their boxers claimed four gold medals including one title. Some of their heroes did not attend in their Women's National Boxing Championships in Toranagallu but most of their bests were competed for the medals.

In the absence of six-time AIBA Women's World Champion and five-time ASBC Asian Women's Champion Chungneijang Mary Kom Hmangte a new boxer won the light flyweight (48kg). Punjab's Manju Rani eliminated Rajni Singh in the semi-final and continued her winning path against S. Kalavani in the final of the event.

At the flyweight (51kg) Commonwealth Games quarter-finalist Pinky Jangra Rani won Haryana's first gold medal in the Indian Women's National Boxing Championships. Rani, who

44 45 was quarter-finalist at the New Delhi 2018 AIBA Women's World Boxing Championships, was slightly better than former AIBA Women's Junior World Champion Nikhat Zareen in their top level final.

A top bantamweight (54kg) final was held in the National Championships between veteran Maisnam Meena Kumari Devi and Ahmet Comert Tournament winner Manisha Moun. Maisnam Meena Kumari Devi eliminated national team member Shiksha in the semi-final and she was enough patient to beat Manisha Moun in the final.

India's top hope Sonia Lather Singh claimed silver medal in the Astana 2016 AIBA Women's World Boxing Championships and she is trying to regain her place in the national team. The experienced boxer had to face for the title of the featherweight (57kg) with AIBA Women's Youth World Champion 19-year-old Shashi Chopra. Sonia Lather Singh used her patient style against the taller opponent and celebrated her title after the last gong.

The lightweight (60kg) delivered full of surprises in the Indian Women's National Championships which was won by Haryana's Neeraj who defeated Preeti Beniwal in the final. Punjab's claimed bronze medal in the New Delhi 2018 AIBA Women's World Boxing Championships and gold in the Ahmet Comert Tournament therefore her success over Pwilao Basumatary was an expected result.

Assam's Lovlina Borgohain achieved also bronze at the New Delhi 2018 AIBA Women's World Boxing Championships as Simranjit Kaur and defeated her main national rival Pooja in the final of the welterweight (69kg). Neetu was not the main favourite of the middleweight (75kg) but she was too strong for Nupur in the final of the event.

Haryana's Pooja Rani claimed silver medal in the 2012 ASBC Asian Confederation Women's Boxing Championships and she regained her national throne after beating AIBA Women's World Boxing Championships competitor at the light heavyweight (81kg). Seema Poonia is member of the national team at the heavyweight (+81kg) and she was slightly better than former AIBA Women's World Boxing Championships bronze medallist Kavita Chahal.

Hasan Tahan and Ahmad Ali Othman defended their thrones in the Lebanon National Championships

The Lebanon National Boxing Championships was held in the city of Beyrouth where the local press media and TV covered the event. Lebanon's experienced elite boxers such as Hasan Tahan, Ahmad Hamido, Ahmad Ali Othman and Wissam Aantar won their weight classes in the Division One level of the National Championships.

Lebanon attended in the recent ASBC events including the Bangkok 2018 ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships. Lebanon has got strong strategic plans for the future and the country is planning to attend in the upcoming events with bigger delegations in the main competitions in 2019.

The Division One level of the National Championships was a three-day long competition with the participation of 9 clubs in seven different weight classes. The first gold medal of the Division A level was achieved by Ammar El-Aaloul who defeated Khodor Saad in the final of the lightweight (60kg).

Hasan Tahan is one of the most experienced boxers in the elite level who arrived to the event as multiple titleholders to the National Championships. Tahan defeated all of his rivals at the light welterweight (64kg) including talented Rawad Khoury in the final. He is now ready to compete in the top level of the international tournaments in 2019.

The welterweight (69kg) delivered strong battles in the National Championships which was won by Ahmad Hamido following his success over Ali Aantar. Ahmad Ali Othman achieved gold medal already in the 2015 and in the 2016 editions of the Lebanon National Championships and he defended his throne beating Carl El-Deek in the final.

The gold medal of the light heavyweight (81kg) was achieved by Kassem Mokdad which was his first national success. The heavyweight (91kg) saw a top battle between Aala El-Dinawi and Mohammad Ossaaili in Beyrouth. Lebanon has got strong traditions at the super heavyweight (+91kg) and their new hope in this division could be Wissam Aantar who won the National Championships.

Due the unexpected high number of participants the Division Two level of the National Championships was held in four competition days in Beyrouth. Altogether 15 clubs attended in the Division Two National Championships from each region of the country and Omar El- Najjar (60kg), Alendo Al-Osta (69kg), Hussein Hmadeh (75kg), Steven Majdalani (81kg) and Karim El-Asaad (91kg) were the bests in the event.

Following the National Championships Lebanon Boxing Federation organized a ceremony for the winners of the Division One and Division Two levels. ASBC has huge respect to Mr. Eng. Mahmoud Khattab the President of the Lebanon Boxing Federation who supported also financially the national event.

The General Secretary of the Lebanon Boxing Federation Ms. Jana Baghdadi managed the event where their experienced boxing official Honorary President Mr. Mohammad Khalili worked as Supervisor at the National Championships.

Login Petrov proved his star skills in the Uzbekistan Junior National Cup in Ferghana where 384 boxers attended

The Uzbekistan Junior National Cup was held for their 14 and 15-year-old young talents in the historical city of Ferghana. Uzbekistan's new young sensations could be Bekzod Kholdorov (44kg), Yuldoshali Toshpulatov (50kg), Timur Rakhmatjonov (54kg), Mirzomakhmad Mirzobekov (63kg), Asadbek Umarov (80kg) and Jakhongir Zokirov (+80kg) but the best performance was delivered by Login Petrov (66kg).

The competition was the first selection event for the goals of 2019 including to the upcoming ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships. Asian Boxing Confederation is planning to give more chance to the younger age groups in our continent to build up the strong future of Asia's boxing life.

Boxers who were born in 2003 and in 2004 were able to attend in the Uzbekistan Junior National Cup in the historical city of Ferghana. Altogether record number of 384 young boxers attended in the Uzbekistan Junior National Cup in Ferghana from each part and regions of the Central Asian boxing power.

The first gold medal of the Uzbekistan Junior National Cup was achieved by Khorezm's Ibrokhim Ishjanov who defeated Jumanazar Nortozhiyev in the final of the 42kg weight class. Chyrchyk's hope Bekzod Kholdorov, who trains with Mr. Farrukh Kilichev, exceeded the previous expectations and defeated Ibratbek Davlatov in the second final of the Uzbekistan Junior National Cup.

Chyrchyk's another favourite boxer Aydos Tagaybayev was not able to win the gold medal of the pinweight (46kg) where Ferghana's Islombek Ganiyev won his first big event following his success over Tashkent region's Shokir Abdurasulov. Andizhan's Asrorbek Shakhobiddinov earned the title of the light flyweight (48kg) after beating Rivojiddin Yuldashev in the final.

Yuldoshali Toshpulatov arrived from a boxing family and defeated his main rivals as Javokhir Kakhorov and Javokhir Toshmatov as well. Andizhan Sport School's Jokhonmurod Imamaliyev maintained the best fighting distance successfully against the favourite Tashkent region's Ozodbek Mazhitov and took the title of the light bantamweight (52kg).

Chyrchyk's new sensation Timur Rakhmatjonov controlled his fights at the bantamweight (54kg) and he had enough reserve energy to beat Khamidullo Khabibullayev in the final of the Junior National Cup. Another 15-year-old talent Lazizbek Fattoyev impressed in Ferghana and eliminated Bilal Ikhbolov in the semi-final and continued his winning path in the final of the featherweight (57kg) against Azimjon Giyosov.

Kashkadarya's first title in the Junior National Cup was surprisingly won by Azizbek Tojiyev who defeated Begali Kirgizboyev and Bekzod Bekmuradov as well. Andizhan's top favourite Mirzomakhmad Mirzobekov realized his golden dreams and defeated Tashkent's Mukhammadsobir Aleuatdinov in the final of the light welterweight (63kg).

Navoy's top future hope Login Petrov has got strong international experiences who claimed silver medal in the Makanalin & Nokerbekov & Satenov Junior Memorial Tournament in Kazakhstan and won other events in 2018. The 15-year-old top local hope controlled his welterweight (66kg) final fight against Ferghana's Asadbek Safarov and won his next national title in Uzbekistan.

Kashkadarya's second gold medal was achieved by Azizbek Samadov at the light middleweight (70kg) after beating Ferghana's Fazliddin Dekhkonov. Andizhan's next top boxer Nursatbek Tokhirov accomplished his target in the Junior National Cup and triumphed over Kokand's Bekhrezbek Pulatov in the final of the middleweight (75kg).

Kokand's next finalist Asadbek Umarov bagged the title in Ferghana where he was enough strong to beat Tashkent's Abdullojon Almamatov. Jakhongir Zokirov eliminated Karakalpakstan's Ali Nuranov in the semi-final stage of the event in spite of his opponent's strong family traditions to boxing. Zokirov continued in the same level in his final against Kokand's Salokhiddin Tokhirov and won the last title in Ferghana.

Pakistan's international level boxers shined in the WAPDA Inter-Unit National Championships

The Pakistan WAPDA Inter-Unit National Boxing Championships was held in the city of Lahore which is the country's second largest city after Karachi. Pakistan's experienced boxers of the international stage such as Mohibullah Bacha, Naqeeb Ullah, Aamir Khan and Mehmood Sanaullah won their weight classes but the main sensation was delivered by Niamat Ullah at the light heavyweight (81kg).

The WAPDA Inter-Unit National Boxing Championships was the 48th edition in Pakistan and almost all of their top boxers were able to attend in this strong challenge. Pakistan sent their boxers to the Jakarta 2018 Asian Games and also to the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games to raise the experiences of their talents.

Their WAPDA Inter-Unit National Boxing Championships was one of the first selection events for 2019. Mohibullah Bacha is Pakistan's best light flyweight (49kg) boxer since 2013 and has got high number of international experiences to win his key contests. The 31-year-old boxer eliminated former National Selection Tournament winner Jahanzaib Khan in the semi- final and continued his winning path against Sheroz Kachi in the final.

Atta Ullah won his first medal a bronze still back at the 2012 Pakistan National Championships therefore he was enough experienced to beat Afzal Rehman in the final of the flyweight (52kg). Naqeeb Ullah has international experiences but in the last edition of the Pakistan National Boxing Championships he took only silver medal. He dominated all of the rounds and knocked down his rival Shafi Jan which meant he was crowned at the bantamweight (56kg) in Lahore.

The lightweight (60kg) went to Muhib Ullah who triumphed over Naseer Ahmed in the final of the WAPDA Inter-Unit National Boxing Championships. Asian Games competitor Ahmad Ali is the defending National Champion at the light welterweight (64kg) in Pakistan and walked over to the gold medal due Sahib Khan was unable to box against him in the final.

Aamir Khan has got strong experiences in the international stage since the Milan 2009 AIBA World Boxing Championships therefore he defeated Naqeeb Ullah in the next final. Faisal Khan was quarter-finalist in the 2018 Pakistan National Boxing Championships but this time he was stronger than all of his rivals including veteran Karar Hussain in the final of the middleweight (75kg).

Niamat Ullah was bronze medallist at the 2018 Pakistan National Boxing Championships and lost to their No.1 Awais Ali Khan in the semi-final a few months ago. Khan qualified to the Hamburg 2017 AIBA World Boxing Championships and defeated top Indian boxers in the recent years but this time Niamat Ullah was able to do revenge in their hectic final.

Mehmood Sanaullah was quarter-finalist in the Incheon 2014 Asian Games and in the Tashkent 2017 ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships. The 25-year-old heavyweight (91kg) boxer took strong advantage after the first round in each scorecard and

Nat Sieknin continued his dominancy in the Cambodian National Championships where Nao Srypov is a historical woman winner

The Cambodian National Boxing Championships for the elite women and elite men boxers was held in Sky Land in Kandal Province where nine winners have been crowned. Cambodia's best male boxer Nat Sieknin dominated the lightweight (60kg) and defended his throne in the Southeast Asian country.

Their last local competition the Cambodian National Games was held in June 2018 where high number of boxers fought for the titles. Cambodia attended in the Thailand Open International Boxing Tournament in July and the country is planning to take part in the upcoming ASBC Asian Confederation Elite Boxing Championships.

The Cambodian boxers have got long term strategic goals the 2023 which will be held in the country at the very first time. The management of the Cambodian Boxing Federation developed a long term strategy to develop boxing and make it more popular in the country before 2023.

Four women boxers attended in the Cambodian National Boxing Championships at the very first time to join to the Gender Equality Program. Cambodia sent women boxers to the Ho Chi Minh City 2017 ASBC Asian Confederation Women's Boxing Championships which was a great effort from the developing country. Penh Vanthong had to meet in the final of the men's bantamweight (56kg) with Cambodia's teenage talent 18-year-old Bang Non who was quarter-finalist at the Bangkok 2018 ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships. Penh Vanthong was the titleholder of the National Championships but he had to do his very best to beat his teenage opponent in the third men's final in Kandal Province.

Defending National Champion Nat Sieknin is Cambodia's most experienced male elite boxer who claimed bronze medal in the last edition of the Southeast Asian Games. He is member of the Cambodian national team since 2012 therefore his success over Ky Him in the final of the lightweight (60kg) was an expected result.

E.V. Phouthong eliminated his main rival Vy Sophors in the semi-final which was his key contest at the light welterweight (64kg) and controlled his final over Reurm Vannak. The welterweight (69kg) gold medal was taken by Phann Kroun who was too strong for Dorn Doeun in the final.

Cambodia's new middleweight (75kg) National Champion is Ny Sophy who defeated Morng Sokhon in the seventh final of the men's part of the event. The last gold medal of the whole Cambodian National Boxing Championships was achieved by Sen Bunthen following his victory against Seurm Nhanh in the final of the light heavyweight (81kg).

The Syrian Youth National Boxing Championships for their male talents was held in Latakia where ten gold medallists were introduced to the local crowd after the finals. Among Syria's most experienced boxers in the youth age group Sayed Ahmad Sayed, Khalil Al-Alawi and defending champion Fakhim Sliteen won their next national titles in Latakia.

The competition was held in 10 men's weight classes in Latakia: 49kg, 52kg, 56kg, 60kg, 64kg, 69kg, 75kg, 81kg, 91kg and +91kg. Boxers who were born in 2001 and in 2002 were

57 58 eligible to attend in the Syrian Youth National Championships. Aleppo topped the team rankings, host squad of Latakia became runner-up and the Army Club was the third at the Syrian Youth National Championships.

Syria attended in the last edition of the Bangkok 2018 ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships but their best year was in 2017 when their hopes impressed in all levels at the international stage. The Syrian boxers are working hard to accomplish their goals in 2019 as well when high number of top international events is in the agenda.

Aleppo's first gold medal was achieved by Layeth Homsi who defeated Qunatra's Mohamed Shehab in the final of the light flyweight (49kg). Aleppo's Yehya Abu Zeid was silver medallist at the Syrian Junior National Olympiad one and half year ago therefore his success over Mohamed Salman of Tartous was an expected result in Latakia.

Aleppo's third-in-a-row gold medal was taken by Junior National Olympiad winner Sayed Ahmad Sayed who arrived to Latakia as the main favourite of the bantamweight (56kg) and he accomplished his target with strong performance and dominated his final against Hama's Mohamed Abdulmonim. Latakia's Fakhim Sliteen won the gold medal at the 2017 Syrian Junior National Championships and at the 2018 Syrian Youth National Championships. After one and half year he is still at the middleweight (75kg) and defeated such strong rivals as Jafar Hamdan in the semi-final and Army's Ali Mahfouz in the final. Fakhim Sliteen became the lone one who could defend his throne in the Syrian Youth National Championships.

Latakia's third gold medal in the national event was delivered by Ibrahim Ali at the light heavyweight (81kg) following his success over Abdulla Khamis. Hama's lone gold medal was earned by Mohammed Khaled Al-Kharat at the heavyweight (91kg). Syria has got always great potential at the super heavyweight (+91kg) and their new Youth National Champion is Army's Modar Ibrahim who thrashed Jafar Iskandar in the final.

M.M. Paris named as Best Boxer in the Sri Lankan T.B. Jayah School Boxing Tournament

The T.B. Jayah School Boxing Tournament is a traditional competition in Sri Lanka where high number of young prospects fought for the medals in Kandy. M.M. Paris and Senuka Dulran were the bests among the schoolboys, Dimash Sankalpa impressed in the junior level while Mohamad Luqman and Kamal Denauama were the bests in the youth age group in the city of Kandy.

The T.B. Jayah School Boxing Tournament was held to raise the experience of Sri Lanka's young talents in three age groups and altogether 16 champions have been crowned in the national competition. Kandy is located in the middle of the island, has with cooler climate and famous of its cultural and historical sightseeing.

Following the Layton Cup, the traditional Clifford Cup and the Sri Lankan National Sports Festival the T.B. Jayah Meeting was their next national activity. Altogether 187 boxers from 44 schools attended in the T.B. Jayah School Boxing Tournament in Kandy which shows development in these age groups in Sri Lanka.

Trinity College Kandy won the team rankings following their three titles, one silver and one bronze medal. St. Sylvester's College was the runner-up squad in the T.B. Jayah School Boxing Tournament winning also three gold medals in the city of Kandy. Colombo's Mahanama College became the third in the team rankings with their two gold medals.

The Best Boxer Award was taken by M.M. Paris of St. Sylvester's College who won the pinweight (45kg) among the schoolboys athletes following his success over Hamdan Faisal in the final. Mahanama College's Senuka Dulran proved his talent in the 35kg of the schoolboys level before Kandy's Themiya Herath impressed in the final of the 41kg where he was too strong for M.T.S. Rayman.

The first out of the five available junior gold medals at the T.B. Jayah School Boxing Tournament was captured by Mahanama College's Dimash Sankalpa who defeated all of his four rivals including M.G.V. Kumara in the final of the pinweight (46kg). Kandy's local boxers kept three gold medals in the city, their W.M.S.C. Wijesooriya (48kg), A.G.D.D. Jayasinghe (52kg) and M.P.G.P.P. Wijesinghe (54kg) all won their categories.

Trinity College's Mohamad Luqman launched powerful punches in his final against Eranga Bandara and won the final of the youth light flyweight (49kg) by RSC. His teammate in the squad Kamal Denauama was also too strong for his opponents including R.J. Wickramasinghe in the final of the youth lightweight (60kg). A.M.R. Ahamad (52kg), S.M.A.S.K.

Aydos Tagaybayev and Samandar Tashpulatov shined in the Tashkent Regional Junior Championships in Chinaz

The Tashkent Regional Junior Championships was taking place in the small town of Chinaz which is located near to their capital city. Among Uzbekistan's future hopes Arslan Kuandykov, Aydos Tagaybayev, Samandar Tashpulatov and Shokhruz Soliboyev were the bests in the competition.

Following the Tashkent Regional Youth Championships which was held in the city of Angren their best juniors could meet in Chinaz. Boxers who were born in 2003 and in 2004 were eligible to take part in the Tashkent Regional Junior Championships to raise the experiences of this age group before the main goals of 2019.

Altogether record number of 262 male boxers attended in 18 weight classes from 36kg up to the heavyweight (+80kg) in Chinaz. The competition was one of the first preparation events for the 2019 junior tournaments when among the planning tournaments there is an ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships.

Chinaz's first gold medal in the event was achieved by 14-year-old Zikirjon Ummataliyev who defeated Azizbek Atabekov in the final of the 36kg weight class. Bostanlyk's Arslan Kuandykov is also a 14-year-old talent who demonstrated his technique against Khusniddin Kakharov in the second final of the competition.

Following Jaloliddin Shamsiddinov's and Isroil Karimov's gold medals in Chinaz, Mukhammadkodir Mamurjonov amazed the crowd in the Tashkent Regional Junior Championships. The 15-year-old talent, who trains in the city of Chyrchyk with powerful boxers, was too smart for Bekabad's Mirumid Saburov in the final of the 44kg weight class.

Aydos Tagaybayev is Chyrchyk's top future hope who trains with national level coach Mr. Farrukh Kilichev in the city and arrived to the competition as top favourite of the pinweight (46kg). Tagaybayev, who has got impressive combinations, used the best fighting range against his teammate Shokir Abdurasulov in the final.

The next top performance was done by Davron Rakhmonov of Zangiota who defeated Bekabad region's favourite Ozodbek Mazhitov in the final of the light bantamweight (52kg) which was a small surprise in Chinaz. Samandar Tashpulatov of Nurafshan realized his golden dreams in Chinaz and defeated Chyrchyk's Nurlibek Uzenbayev in the title bout of the bantamweight (54kg).

Angren's Samandar Solijonov had to do his very best to beat Bekabad's Utkirbek Abdukholikov which was one of the narrowest bout of the whole competition. Shokhruz Soliboyev (60kg), Pulat Haydarov (63kg), Doston Makhmudov (66kg), Sardar Sobirov (75kg) and Sokhib Istamov (+80kg) all impressed in the strong competition.

Uzbekistan's next activity an important training camp for the men's junior boxers was held in the mountain town of Yangiabad. Uzbekistan's regional teams and boxers from Kazakhstan were attended in the joint training camp to prepare well with strong sparrings to the upcoming ASBC events.

Yangiabad is located in the mountains and the region is perfect for the boxing teams to raise themselves into a new level. Many of the top nations used the area as preparation for the main international events in the recent years. Among them England's men's elite team used the beautiful location as preparation for the Kharkiv 2017 EUBC European Confederation Boxing Championships.

Uzbekistan's well experienced coach Mr. Farrukh Kilichev and Chyrchyk's officials were invited several teams to prepare to the main goals of 2019. The next edition of the ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships will be held in the end of 2019 where boxers who were born in 2003 and 2004 are eligible to attend.

Neighbouring Kazakhstan attended in the training camp in Yangiabad besides to the best Uzbek junior boxers. Teams from two Kazakh regions arrived to the training and sparring camp to Yangiabad which supported the Central Asian boxing powers to raise the international experiences of these young talents.

Uzbekistan's regional junior events and their Junior National Cup for the 2003-2004 born age groups were held in the recent weeks. Chyrchyk's best boxers such as Bekzod Kholdorov, Shokir Abdurasulov and Aydos Tagaybayev shined in these national events and proved their expectations could be high in 2019.
