SOMERSET COUNTY COUNCIL A372 WESTONZOYLAND ROAD, BRIDGWATER (REVOCATION, 20MPH AND 30 MPH SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 2018

NOTICE is hereby given that Somerset County Council proposes to make the above Order in exercise of its powers conveyed by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to revoke The County Council of Somerset (A372 Westonzoyland Road, Bridgwater) (20mph and 30mph Speed Limit) Order 2002 and introduce a 20mph speed limit on the lengths of road specified in the Schedule 1 to this Notice and 30 mph speed limit on the lengths of road specified in the Schedule 2 to this Notice.

A copy of the Order, the plan showing the extents of the restrictions and the Statement of Reasons for proposing to make the Order may be inspected during normal office hours at (i) Somerset Highways, A Block reception, County Hall, Taunton, TA1 4DY and (ii) the Somerset County Council website: www.somerset.gov.uk/TRO. If you are unable to access either, please contact 0300 123 2224.

Any person wishing to object to the proposed Order may do so in writing, quoting Ref. No. AB26102018, specifying the grounds on which it is made, to Somerset County Council, Traffic Management, County Hall, Taunton, TA1 4DY and received no later than the 11th December 2018.

The names and addresses of anyone writing in may be made available for public inspection and will be included in a report that may be published on the Somerset County Council website, unless the individuals concerned state, in writing, their objection to their names and address being made so available or being included in the publication.

A372 Westonzoyland Road, From a point 30 metres West of its junction with Bridgwater Dunwear Lane/Bower Lane to a point 310 metres East of its junction with Dunwear Lane/Bower Lane

SCHEDULE 2 20 mph Speed Limit

A372 Westonzoyland Road, From a point 20 metres East of its junction with Bridgwater Parkway to a point 505 metres East of its junction with Parkway.

SOMERSET COUNTY COUNCIL A372 WESTONZOYLAND ROAD, BRIDGWATER (REVOCATION, 20MPH AND 30 MPH SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 2018

SOMERSET COUNTY COUNCIL in exercise of its powers under Sections 81, 82, 83 and 84 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (hereinafter referred to as “the Act of 1984”) and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act of 1984, hereby makes the following Order:-

1. This Order shall come into force on the xxth xxxxxxx 2018 and may be cited as “Somerset County Council A372 Westonzoyland Road (Revocation, 20mph and 30mph Speed Limit) Order 2018” as specified Schedule.

2. No person shall drive any motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 30mph on the lengths of road as specified in the Schedule 1 of this Order.

3. No person shall drive any motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 20mph on the lengths of road as specified in the Schedule 2 of this Order.

4. The County Council of Somerset (A372 Westonzoyland Road, Bridgwater) (20mph and 30mph Speed Limit) Order 2002"” is hereby revoked.

5. Vehicles falling within regulation 3(1), 3(2), 3(3) and 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011(a) when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations
