Teaching Experience-Pastoral Theology Evangelization and Social Media, 1 Gr. Credit annually, 2015- Present The challenges and opportunities of modern Church communications relating to evangelization, mission and catechesis. Students will articulate a theology of communication for mission and evangelization. Includes: strategies for evangelization and faith sharing online, social media policies, effective use of communication tools and internal parish communication systems. It is rooted in Catholic principles of evangelization and focused on best practices in communication.

Evangelization and Mission for Lay Ecclesial Ministers, 1 Gr. Credit annually, 2013-Present Explores evangelization as the fundamental mission of the Church and the essential mission of the laity. It is rooted in scripture and ecclesial documents and focused on practical applications in community and family life. Students will study key documents on evangelization and the new evangelization and discuss best practices in evangelization, faith sharing and personal witness.

Church History, 2 Undergrad Credits annually, 1997-Present An overview of the history of the Catholic Church designed to equip the lay ecclesial minister with an understanding of the events, movements, theologies and people that have influenced the development and structure of the Church. It will encourage participants to reflect on what the Church has been, what it is, and what our future challenges might be, in light of our history.

Pastoral Planning, 1 Gr. Credit annually, 2013- Present An introduction to the principles of pastoral planning including: needs assessment, identifying a target population, goal setting, developing an action plan and evaluation tools. It includes an introduction to appreciative inquiry, collaborative leadership, small group facilitation and chartering a team.

Theological Foundations of Apostolic Service, 1 Gr. Credit annually, 2013-Present Direct student research for an Independent Research Course on the theological foundations of the student’s particular Field Education experience, leading to a 15 page academic research paper.
