• In 2018/2019 we had 1053 registered walkers led by 62 volunteer walk leaders. • The Walking Programme delivers walks throughout South Staffordshire: Bilbrook, Cheslyn Hay, Coven, Essington, Highgate Common, Great Wyrley, Kinver, Penkridge, and . • Our walks are free, fun and friendly – perfect to help people get active and make new friends. Gentle Exercise

• We deliver gentle exercise classes throughout South Staffordshire, serving a wide range of communities: Bilbrook, Brewood, Codsall, Essington, Featherstone, Great Wyrley, Huntington, Pattingham, Perton, , Wheaton Aston & Wombourne. • our participants range from 50 to 94 years of age • Over 10,000 attendances in 2018/2019 which is our best ever. Class numbers are averaging at 17 per class. Cycling Scheme

Forward to Health is a scheme designed for people with medical conditions, with the aim of increasing activity and improving health. • Three 1:1 assessments with your personal exercise instructor including personal review sessions at week 1, 6 and 12 to discuss progress and set new goals. • Fully inclusive of gym sessions, exercise classes and swimming at all of our leisure centres. • Nutritional advice and a personal 12 week exercise programme to meet your individual fitness and medical needs. • Ongoing support from your instructor throughout the 12 weeks.

Application Comments Award £ 2078 Boscobel Squadron The score was based on the fact that although it is a very specific project benefitting the air 500.00 Flight Simulator cadets at Codsall, it did link into the Council priority of a skilled and prosperous district by enhancing practical, aviation and computing skills of the young cadets. Consultation had been undertaken with the cadets, their parents and the civilian committee however the scoring panel thought access to the simulator by other local ATC cadets would have shown a benefit to the wider cadet community. CASS the Carers Association The score was based on the information provided in the application. Evidence was 1,000.00 Wombourne Carers’ Café provided of the existing support for carers in South Staffordshire with successes of within the 20% previous Carer’s Café and engagement with local residents. Linking to all 3 council earmarked for priorities it will benefit the wider community of South Staffordshire district. Health related initiatives Penkridge & District Community First The score was based on the successes of the Community First Responders in saving lives 900.00 Responders within the community, support from the local community, local councillors, local groups within the 20% Expanding the emergency cover and local businesses. Evidence of the benefits to the local community and statistics relating earmarked for provided by the volunteer Community to health related issues and demographics. Stourton Village Hall The scoring was based on the good idea of new lightweight chairs which would provide 375.00 Comfortable seating more comfortable and modern furniture and in turn attract new groups. The scoring panel felt that more consultation with the wider community would have allowed more understanding and exploration of what local groups wanted. Trinity Methodist Church The scoring was based on the information supplied based on a pilot of this project which 1,000.00 Computers, cake and company included successes, feedback and consultation all of which provided the evidence for the need of the project and the benefit to the wider community. The pilot was also linked into the Tea and Teach Session at the district council evidencing partnership working too.
