The trains leave the historic Oakwood Depot at 9:15, 11:15, 1:15 and 3:15 The Museum itself is open Thursday - Saturday from 9 am to 4 pm and there is no admission charge to tour the grounds. Train rides are free for children under the age of 3, $5 for children 3 years to 12 years, and These Frisco and Rock Island Railroad $12 for those 13 years and older. THE CALTRAIN CORRIDOR VISION PLAN Appendix A Rail: Existing Conditions and Vision Plan Methodology Appendix A describes today’s Caltrain rail system and service. It also explains the assumptions and methodology used to develop the Caltrain Corridor Vision Plan recommendations for future rail service in the corridor. 1. Caltrain Today The following existing conditions form what this study assumes to the baseline conditions that the Vision Plan elements are built upon. This information and the assumptions were based on what was available in 2016. 1.1 Physical Infrastructure The Caltrain Corridor is an approximately 48-mile rail corridor between the San Francisco 4th and King Station and San Jose Diridon Station. Between San Francisco and CP (Control Point) Coast1, a short distance north of the Santa Clara station, the corridor is owned and controlled by the Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board (i.e., Caltrain). Between CP Coast and Diridon Station, the corridor is a portion of Union Pacific Railroad’s (UP’s) Coast Subdivision (i.e., its rail line from Oakland to San Luis Obispo). The entire right-of-way and all main tracks in this section are owned by Caltrain, with the exception of Main Track 1, which is owned and maintained by UP2. Caltrain owns all stations in the corridor, all of which it received from the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) in 19933. The corridor is primarily a two main track corridor. Major track infrastructure components and stations are shown in Figure 1. At eight locations, the corridor includes main tracks or sidings other than two main tracks, also shown in Figure 1. -

Stratford Photo Tracings and Liquid Fuel Photo Tracings Drawings Lists Description: There are approximately 16000 engineering drawings covering locomotives, carriages and wagons, components, road vehicles and a miscellaneous variety of objects. There is an associated and quite unique card index system related to the drawings and a set of registers. System of arrangement: The engineering drawings have been sorted and listed in separate series based on the apparent practice of the drawing office at Stratford. The main series of the drawings can be categorised into four main types: 1. Photo tracings on wax linen. These acted as a master from which copies could be made for other purposes. 2. Office copies. These were prints on paper, with the earliest using a cyanotype photo process for copying, sometime additionally coloured, and kept in the drawing office. 3. Shop copies. These were on a variety of materials tacked onto wooden rods and used in the workshops. They have survived in this condition and are inevitably uniformly dirty and frequently in poor condition. 4. Bench-hole copies. These were separate from the main series, as only about 20% originated at Stratford. Most came from external sources. Essentially they formed a technical reference library of ideas and suggestions. They were folded and stored flat in a pigeonhole system. In total they comprise approximately 16000 drawings. There is duplication between the various series but the extent of this has not yet been appraised. The main series of drawings runs potentially from 1 to 42459, plus ‘attachments’ and ‘parts’ drawings. Most of these drawings have not survived into the present, as a result of periodic culls of material. -
