3 Inf Bde 2. 081010Z MORTAR ATTACK (ONE CIVILIAN DEAD, ONE CIVILIAN SERIUSLY INJURED), RUC Keady (2 R Anglian). At 1010Z three Mk15 mortars were fired at RUC KEADY killing one civilian contractor. [Redacted]
a. Incident. At 1010Z three Mk15 mortars were launched from a Leyland "tipper truck" mortar baseplate on DAVIS STREET, GR [redacted], detonating in the area of the construction of the new SF base. NIGEL McCALLUM (sic) [Redacted] , a crane operator, was killed and one other construction worker was seriously injured. Two workers received minor injuries and three soldiers were treated for shock.
b. Follow up. ATO was tasked to the scene at (Redacted] and completed the clearance operation at [redacted] reporting the explosion of three Mk 15 mortars, each approximately [Redacted]. The launch distance was approximately [Redacted].

1. There has been a continued high level of violence across the Province during Mar, [Redacted — outside of scope], a civilian contractor killed in a triple Mk 15 mortar attack at RUC KEADY and [Redacted] in a spate of sectarian attack, dominated by PPMs.
SERIOUS INCIDENTS
4. During March following serious incident occurred:
