Mission: iMDAT- Response For Need (RFN) believes that humanitarian aid should empower local communities by using local resources with the ultimate goal of self sufficiency. RFN works to do this through building trust, collaboration,community, and accountability so that any humanitarian response is for the people, from the people. Background: iMDAT-RFN was founded by a group of Syrian youth who saw it as their responsibility to improve the quality of the humanitarian response in . The Grassroots organization started as a community initiative, providing winter and hygiene supplies for the vulnerable in various regions of Syria. Since then,iMDAT-RFN has partnered with International Non-Governmental Organizations (INGOs) to participate in the WASH program (an initiative of the World Health Organization), job training, sustainable food distribution, and sustainable housing.

Atareb Through the various programs, iMDAT-RFN also enhanced the social cohesion. As an example, A Cash For Work program in Syria produced knitted clothes which in turn were distributed to local community children that were in need, Saraqib Abu Duhur irrespective of background, race, religion. This led to increased self esteem among the community and better relations Jisr al-Shughour among the different groups with in the neighborhood.
