Front Cover: For Your Pleasure Business and Cottage Directory [Illustration: Left foreground evergreen tree with Longs Peak in the background. The pen and ink sketch is uncredited] Season 1930 Copyright 1930. Helen Anderson [of what would today be called the visitors bureau], Arthur B. Harris [editor of the Estes Park Trail newspaper] [Notes: (1) After allowing EPHRP to digitize this copy of the Estes Park 1930 Business and Cottage Directory, Dr. Randall Maharry donated it to the Estes Park Public Library in January 2009. He originally purchased it from Jack Melton. (2) It is clear that at least four pages of the directory, and possibly eight, were removed at some time in the past (or accidentally omitted at the time of publication), because the list of names beginning with C and D is too small for the overall number of names included, with an obvious gap between “Camp” and “Denton”, the last name appearing in the C section and the first name appearing in the D section, respectively. As well, there are cross-references to names or categories that should be in these sections (like “see Clatworthy” or “see Cottages”) that cannot be found. (3) Because the Estes Park post office is used as the reference point for most downtown locations, it should be remembered that the post office in 1930 was in what is now called Bond Park. (4) Although they do not appear with a hash mark (#) in the directory, all telephone numbers are prefixed with this symbol to increase search efficiency. (5) This directory was digitized, corrected, and all annotations added in December 2008. Annotations in square brackets provided by John Meissner, annotations in “greater than-less than” brackets provided by Sybil Barnes. Parenthetical comments bracketed by curved parentheses are part of the original document.] A John H. Abbott, 14.4 miles Big Thompson Canyon Road, Drake Donald A.
