Gabby Reece showcased her HIGHX land training fitness program. Gabby Reece and Laird Hamilton Home Fitness Fitness couple Gabby Reece and Laird Hamilton hosted a “Train Like A Warrior” event with Sambazon, the pioneer in açaí and superfood nutrition, to launch its new vegan protein and superfood packs. Reece, a former professional beach volleyball player and TV personality, and Hamilton, a legendary big wave surfer, hosted the event at their Malibu home. Reece and Hamilton showcased their signa- ture fitness routines, including Reece’s HIGHX land training and Hamilton’s XPT extreme pool training program. The workout was followed by an açaí bowl making demo, with Reece and Hamilton each sharing their favorite recipes to make their Sambazon açaí bowls and smoothies at home.

More than 100 people participated in the day’s events; including surf therapy, arts and crafts, photos with Star Wars characters and food provided by Bobby’s Place, Pasadena. Founded by best friends and local surfers, Timothy Hazelip and Jean Pierre Pereat, the Mighty Under Dogs help children with special needs through the Jefferson “Zuma Jay” Wagner rides a wave power of the ocean’s healing energy. Gary Mule Deer Robby Krieger Swing and Rock PHOTOS BY JOEY CARMAN Golf enthusiasts and rock-’n’-roll fans joined together to raise funds and awareness for the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital during the sixth annual Scott Medlock — Robby Krieger St. Jude Invitational & All-Star at North Ranch Country Club in Thousand Oaks, Calif. More than 200 golfers and 800 guests attended the event Alex Lifeson that included a round of golf, live auction and tastings from various local residents. An all-star concert rounded out the event, with performances by Robby Kreiger of The Doors, Alex Lifeson of Rush, Richie Sambora and Orianthi, and and Mike Inez of , among many others. The event raised more than $507,000 for St. Jude, and was created by Robby Krieger of The Doors, and Scott Medlock, a noted sports artist. In its history, the event has raised more than $1.9 million.
