CA Gov Candidate Asks to Sue State Over New Sanctuary Law

California State Assemblyman Travis Allen invited President Trump and Attorney General Jeff Sessions to sue Sacramento over the new "sanctuary state" law.

Tucker Carlson said that under the new law, all police statewide are banned from inquiring about immigration status, and that the legislation also has guidelines for schools as well.

"Illegal aliens are now a protected class," Carlson said, comparing Gov. 's (D-Calif.) actions to that of former Alabama Gov. George Wallace (D) whose forced segregation of schools required President Kennedy to send in the national guard.

Allen (R-Huntington Beach) agreed that the federal government must do something to stop Brown's allegedly lawless action.

"Absolutely, there is [a showdown coming]," he said. "It's a bluff. It's up to President Trump and Jeff Sessions to step in and call the bluff."

Allen, who is running for governor against a slew of Democrats including Lt. Gov. and former Los Angeles Mayor , said much of the state opposes the new law and is not as liberal as the rest of the country claims.

He said the Brown family has ruined , adding that they have led the state in one way or another for decades combined.

Brown's father, Edmund Gerald "Pat" Brown Sr. was governor from 1959 to 1967, and E. Gerald Brown Jr. has held the governor's office from 1975 to 1983 and currently since 2011.

Brown Jr. is term-limited this year.

"We truly need Washington to hear this message," Allen said. "Come to California. Sue California."
