1. Rules 1.1. The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in the „Racing Rules of “ 1.2. If there is a conflict between languages the English text will take precedence for the RRS only. The German text will take precedence in all other cases. 1.3. The „Verordnung zur Regelung des Gemeingebrauchs am Dümmer und Steinhuder Meer (Dümmer und Steinhuder Meer-Verordnung — DStMVO —)“ applies, The DStMVO is available at nlwkn.nie- dersachsen.de.

2. Advertising [DP] 2.1. Competitor advertising must meet the requirements of WS Regulation 20 (Advertising Code).

3. Eligibility and Entry 3.1. The regatta is open to boats , F18, Topcat (K1,K2,K3) and A-Cat class. 3.2. The person in charge shall either have a valid DSV boating certificate, a DSV "Jüngstensegelschein", a DSV "Sportsegelschein" or a valid official license prescribed or recommended for the sailing area. Members of other national federations shall have an adequate license of their national authority. [DP], [NP] 3.3. Competitors under the age of 19 shall present a declaration of consent signed by a parent or a legal guardian (see Appendix of this NoR). 3.4. Each crew member shall be a member of a club affiliated to a WS MNA. [DP], [NP] 3.5. Eligible boats enter online (www.raceoffice.org/2018-01-Cat-Auftakt) or by completing the form (see Appendix) and sending it to [email protected] or to WVStM, Postfach 2401, 31507 Stein- hude (fax 05033 – 939122) until April 02nd (code number 01). The entry becomes valid by the time the entry fee has been paid. To enter, all crew members have to sign individually the disclaimer of liability and –if applicable – the declaration of consent under the terms of 3.3. [DP], [NP]

4. Entry fee and other fees [NP], [DP] 4.1. The entry fee amounts to € 30 and after closing deadline €45 or (€ 22 and after closing deadline €33 for Topcat K3 and A-Cat). The entry fee shall be paid to WVStM, account Volksbank Nien- burg, IBAN: DE24 2569 0009 1010 5654 00 – BIC: GENODEF1NIN under specification of the person in charge’s full name, the class and the code number "01". 4.2. The entry fee shall be paid, even if the entry is cancelled or the boat does not show up. Entry fees will be refunded if the entry is rejected. 4.3. A welcoming dinner will take place on April 07th in the YSTM clubhouse mess. The € 8 fee per person includes dinner.

5. Schedule 5.1. The race office business hours will be on April 06th, 6 to 8 pm and on April 07th, 9 to 12 am. 5.2. The race committee may appoint a time for a skippers’ meeting in sufficient time to leave the harbour for the first race (see Sailing instructions). 5.3. The scheduled time of the warning signal for the first race is 11:55 am.

5.4. On April 08th, the first warning signal for the last race will not be given after 1 pm. 5.5. The prize giving ceremony will be held after the protest time limit and after any hearings for the last race have been finished.

6. Sailing instructions 6.1. The Sailing instructions will be available at the YSTM race office.

7. Venue 7.1. The clubhouse and the facitlities of Yachtclub Steinhuder Meer are located at 31515 Wunstorf, Am Strande 1. 7.2. The racing area is on the Steinhuder Meer.

8. Scoring 8.1. 5 races are provided. 8.2. When 4 (four) or fewer races have been completed, a boat’s series score shall be the total of her race scores with no score excluded. When 5 (five) or more races have been completed, a boat’s series score shall be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score.

9. Prizes 9.1. One prize will be given for every three boats entered. Prizes not taken delivery of at the occasion of the prize giving ceremony will not be forwarded.

10. Disclaimer of Liability 10.1. By entering every crew member agrees to comply with and expressively recognises the WS „Racing Rules of Sailing“and with all rules governing the regatta, in particular with the class rules, the regulations of the Notice of Race and of the Sailing Instructions. The responsibility for the decision of the person in charge to participate in a race or to continue with it is solely with him, to that extent he also takes the responsibility for his crew. The helmsman is responsible for the qualification and the correct nautical conduct of his crew as well as for the suitability and the transport-safe condition of the registered boat. In cases of Force Majeure or on grounds of administrative orders or for safety reasons the organizer is entitled to make changes in the realisation of the event or to cancel the event. In these cases there does not exist any liability for compensation of the organizer to the participant. In case of a violation of obligations that do not constitute primary respectively material contractual duties (cardinal obligations), the liability of the organizer, no matter because of which cause in law, for material and property damages of all kinds and their consequences that arise to the participant during or in connection with the participation in the event resulting from a conduct of the organizer, his representatives, servants or agents, is restricted to damages that were caused wilfully or grossly negligent. When a violation of cardinal obligations occurs, in cases of simple negligence the liability of the organizer is limited to foreseeable, typically occurring dam- ages. To the extent that the liability for damages of the organizer is excluded or restricted, the participant also relieves the staff – employees and representatives, agents, servants, sponsors and individuals who provide or drive salvage, safety or rescue vessels or assist with their use - from the individual liability for damages, as well as also all other individuals who were instructed to act in connection with the realisation of the event. German law applies. By entering the competitor agrees to the publication of competitors’ names and pictures. 10.2. Every crew member shall sign the disclaimer of liability prior to the start of the first race.

11. Insurance 11.1. Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of € 3 Mio. per event or the equivalent. [DP]

12. Further information

12.1. Accommodation by requested of Fremdenverkehrsbüro Steinhude www.steinhude-am-meer.de. 12.2. Dogs are undesired on the YSTM premises.
