Tuesday, June 25 - Primary Election Friday, October 11 - Deadline for Registration for General Election Saturday, October 26 - Sunday November 3 - Early voting (locations IMPORTANT TBA) ELECTION Tuesday, November 5 - General Election Board of Elections website where you can look up your polling place, DATES check your registration status, request absentee ballots, etc.: https://vote.nyc.ny.us Apply for an absentee ballot if you are not able to go to a polling place.

Mechanics Enrollment opens Monday, June 10th Institute Mechanics Institute - Tuition free classes In-person registration required. Registration hours are Monday-Friday, Tuition-Free 10am - 5pm. Please read carefully. About the Mechanics Institute: Mechanics Institute offers tuition-free instruction to individuals who are Classes employed in the building and construction trades and provides them with the technical knowledge necessary to advance in their respective fields. The Mechanics Institute offers comprehensive instruction in a wide variety of subject areas related to the building and construction industry. Programs: Electrical Technology, Two-Year Program; HVAC/R Systems, Two-Year Program; Plumbing Systems, Three-Year Program; Construction Project Management, Two-Year Program. June 11 6-8pm GENDA Know Your Rights Training FREE. Councilwoman Carlina Rivera and the New York Transgender Advocacy Group offer training on the Gender Expression Non- Discrimination Act (GENDA), which prohibits discrimination based on gender identity or expression, while providing protections for those who GENDA Know identify as gender non-conforming/non-binary and transgender. In this Your Rights training, participants will: Identify what is considered discrimination with the passage of GENDA, Know how to report instances of discrimination Training in all aspects of life under GENDA (housing, employment, etc.), Develop a toolkit of resources to use and share with the community. East Side June 11 6:30pm Coast Public Hearing: Community Board 3 Resiliency Meetings on East Side Coast Resiliency Project Project (ESCR) Council Member Carlina Rivera is working with Community Board 3 on (ESCR) an extra meeting to allow for greater public comment during the ESCR ULURP. This June 11 public hearing is being scheduled in addition to Community Board 3's regular June Parks Committee and Full Board meetings later that month. June 29, 11am - 2:30pm Free Bike Helmet Fitting with the Department of Transportation Stay safe when riding around town with a custom-fit, free bike helmet. Helmets are required by New York State Law for cyclists who are 13 years old and younger, and they make for a safe trip. Certified Free Bike representatives will be available. DOT will provide free Vision Zero bike Helmet Fitting helmets, fittings and distribution while supplies last. Helmets are available for all ages. You must be present to get a helmet and you must learn how to properly fit and wear it before you receive it. Adults over 18 receiving a helmet must sign a waiver, and a parent or legal guardian must be present to sign a waiver for children under age 18. June 30 1:30 - 3pm Walking Tour of Historic Murray Hill FREE for new members who have joined in the past year. A knowledgeable guide will take you to many historic landmarks in Murray Hill, including the , The Morgan Library, the Polish Consulate and others. You will learn about the well-known architects who designed the buildings and the famous people who once called this neighborhood home, including Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt, J.P. Morgan and more. Find out how Mary Murray distracted the British General Howe to allow the American army to escape during the American Revolution. Tour guides will focus on the unique architectural qualities of the buildings as well as the historic evolution of the neighborhood and its preservation as a residential oasis in Midtown . July 6 3pm Coffee Talks: The New Faces of Tech: Data Privacy and Ethics in Design FREE (donations welcome). Featuring Tiffany Kelly, co-founder of Break the Love & Katherine Zhou, Product Designer at IBM. This event highlights rising innovators and leaders in STEM. In this session, speakers will bring light to the problems that they face working in their industry. Coffee Talks is a series at Church of the Covenant where you can talk about topics of life over the best church coffee on 42nd Street. 10-15 minute talks in a panel-like format with 2-4 speakers. Following the discussion there will be an informal Q&A over coffee. Turtle Bay Music School Artist Series FREE and open to the public. The Artist Series at TBMS is a concert series featuring TBMS faculty members. As talented and active performing musicians, together they present an eclectic season of musical program. Mid-Manhattan Library 455 Fifth Avenue The Mid-Manhattan Library is closed from August 1, 2017 until 2020 for renovation.
