Film expression has become as important to societal structure as breath to life. Its unique ability of bridging gaps and shades of race, culture, faith, thought, fear and prejudice should be given every opportunity to reach its full potential. It is with this belief that Cool Room Entertainment Studios (CRE) was created.

Television and box ofﬁce successes of such projects as ‘Ray’, ‘Hustle & Flow’, ‘Scandal’ and “DreamGirls” prove there is a desire and need for the untapped niche market of quality urban faire with crossover appeal. Good stories with strong, identiﬁable characters draw in and hold an audience consistently more often (and effectively) than any of the special-effects laden bonanzas in movie history.

As Black, Latin, Asian and Hip-hop cultural inﬂuences become better understood and recognized worldwide, so should then their positive representation in the iconic realm of art and ﬁlm. Both in front of and behind the camera. The goal of the Cool Room is to further push this ideal toward fruition.

We call it-- Diverse Cinema.

Cool Room Entertainment, a mini indie-studio formed by minorities, seeks not to be exclusive to them but rather to be inclusive of all. The Cool Room moniker, in its application, is so named after the cerebral cortex -- the part of the brain that houses the images and words of expression -- our creative core.

We focus our efforts in developing compelling and entertaining commercial, short to feature length movies, and branded content . We specialize in script and story development, pre & post production essentials, ﬁlm trailers, music videos and actor reels. We work closely with our clients and brand partners to further their initiatives and realize their vision.

Cool Room Entertainment’s initial focus was original content. We got our feet wet with 2004‘s short, FINDING NEO. A parody that combined elements of hit ﬁlms The Matrix and Finding Nemo. It won ‘Best Comedy Short’ that year. We were off and running.

Today we utilize our multi-disciplinary visual communication skills to produce high quality collateral to match our clients’ divergent marketing plans. By combining our visual media efforts into a singular stream, we can provide a clean hands-on workﬂow – creating greater ease and economic edge for the client.

Our diverse style and content has been screened on well-established media outlets like ABC, HBO, BETJ as well as been awarded in some of the most respected ﬁlm festivals in the U.S., showcasing CRE capabilities and experience in producing, ﬁlming and editing content for television, web, and beyond. We have also produced styling services for magazine and book promotions.

In 2008 The Cool Room was hired to produce and direct a full-length indie feature. Our ﬁrst. The result was the well-received bio drama, Angel Wishes. We script doctored, cast, ﬁlmed and delivered a quality work print and edited trailer to our clients in record time. Leaving us only hungrier for more challenges...

In 2017, we look to, once again, make our mark while returning to our ﬂagship focus, original storytelling. We hope to accomplish this -- Cool Room style -- in the recent online juggernaut that is the web series. Strategically, we felt it not only ﬁttingly raises the stakes but supplies us a realistic goal of unlimited potential and accessibility to the biggest singular audience known to man -- The worldwide web.

CRE also specializes in creating commercial campaigns and online viral videos for local businesses and national brands that target customer engagement. We handle live action, animation and typography graphics.

In 2017, The Cool Room launches The LocalWide Leads Project. This endeavor supplies small and local businesses with original, high- quality online marketing video with a ‘Big brand’ look for intro/outros, ads, commercials and campaigns at very affordable prices. We help business grow and market their brand without breaking the bank. As indie-ﬁlmmakers, that is our gift. Helping communities not only survive but thrive is our responsibility.

TEO, Cool Room Entertainment Executive producer

TEO, is an award-winning ﬁlmmaker and #1 Best-selling author who acts, writes, directs, produces and edits.

Upon his arrival in Los Angeles, the Washington, D.C. native almost immediately landed national modeling, commercial and voiceover campaigns for the likes of Newport Cigarettes, Maxwell House, Nike and Budweiser.

As an actor, he's worked under the notable direction of Paul Verhoeven (twice), David Lynch, David Hogan and John Terlesky and can be seen in the cult ﬁlms Starship Troopers, Barb Wire, Showgirls and Playing God, to name a few.

Enterprisingly, Teo launched CRE, a ﬁlm & television production company dedicated to seeing balanced diversity in those mediums. He has gone on to produce and/or write & direct a number of music videos and short ﬁlms. Some of which have premiered in the Los Angeles Short Film Festival, others appeared on ‘HBO's Project Greenlight' and BETJ's ‘Best Shorts" programs.

Joel Zwick, Zwick Productions HONORARY EXECUTIVE PRODUCER AND CONSULTANT Joel has been in CRE’s corner since its inception. After reading a spec pilot script of Teo’s after meeting at an industry function, Joel became a fan and has been a unyielding supporter, mentor and friend ever since.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Zwick started entertaining back in his high school days when he and three classmates sang in a quartet. He attended Brooklyn College where he acquired a Master of Arts degree. In 1974, he began his long trek through the television world. Starting with classic shows like Happy Days, Laverne & Shirley and Mork & Mindy, Zwick made his mark on more than 20 television series. They ranged from Bosom Buddies and Perfect Strangers to Full House, Step by Step and The Love Boat: The Next Wave. Although he had worked on a number of telefilms, Zwick released his first movie, Second Sight in 1989.

Returning to the industry he knew best, Zwick didn't venture back to film for at least a decade. When he did, he did it BIG with the highest grossing indie comedy of all time, My Big Fat Greek Wedding (2002).
