Question Provide the total number of police officers that died in Northern Ireland, by the police forces and dates mentioned below? Broken down by

1. A direct result of the security situation (killed by terrorists).

2. Died in service (i.e training accidents, road traffic accidents,natural causes or suicides on or off duty). a Police Service of Northern Ireland 4th November 2002 - 31st July 2007. b Police Service of Northern Ireland Reserve 4th November 2002 - 31st July 2007. c Harbour Police 14th August 1969 - 31st July 2007. d Belfast International 14th August 1969 - 31st July 2007.

Answer This is to inform you that the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) has now completed its search for the information you requested and the answers to your questions are as follows.

1 a - Nil Regular Police Officers in PSNI died as a direct result of the security situation (killed by terrorists) during the period 4th November 2002 until 31st July 2007.

1 b - Nil Reserve Police Officers in PSNI died as a direct result of the security situation (killed by terrorists) during the period 4th November 2002 until 31st July 2007.
