Live stats will be available on GoHuskies.com, as well as Twitter updates at UWSoftball. TOP STORYLINES THIS WEEK • The Huskies claimed a doubleheader sweep against Texas Tech, 7-1 and 8-5, on Thursday evening (Feb. 19) at Husky Softball Stadium. • With the victory, Washington softball earned its 1,000 program win in its 23rd season as an NCAA sport. Teresa Wilson, head coach from 1993-2003, earned 532 wins, Scott Centala and Steve Dailey recorded 40 in 2004 and current head coach, Heather Tarr (2005-present) has 429 total wins. • Washington has hit 45 home runs in 33 games this season. Nine different Huskies have tallied at least one homer. Junior Courtney Gano has recorded two multi-homer games this season vs. UNLV (Feb. 7) and UTEP (Feb.21). Senior Kylee Lahners has also recorded a multi-homer game against Grand Canyon (Feb. 16). • Gano is leading the team and the Pac-12 with 13 home runs (second in NCAA division I softball). Her 45 RBI also leads the offense and is tied for fourth in D1. She also leads the Huskies with 13 multi-RBI games. Gano already owns career highs in hits (36), RBI (45), home runs (13) and runs (25). • Huskies lead the Pac-12 in: slugging percentage (.591), runs (276), hits (324), RBI (249), doubles (69), home runs (45) and total bases (544). • UW has posted double-digit hits in 18 games this season. Huskies had 22 hits in two games vs. ASU to open Pac-12 play, including six home runs. • Lahners leads the team with a .456 average (41-for-90 with eight doubles, eight home runs and 31 RBI). She has reached base in all but three games this season and her .600 on-base percentage leads the Pac-12. She has shown great discipline, drawing 14 walks in the last eight games. Her 29 walks this season leads the Pac-12. Lahners is second on the team with a .820 slugging percentage which ranks fourth in the Pac-12. • Sophomore Ali Aguilar boasts a team-leading 18 multi-hit games this season. She went 7-for-10 with a home run and three RBI in two games vs. ASU. Regionals were played at 16 campus sites, and eight super regionals were played Memorial Day weekend, featuring two teams at each site in a best-of-three series. WCWS Championship Finals consisted of best-of-three series. 2014 The number of automatic qualifications increased from 31 to 32 with the addition of the American Athletic Conference. The West Coast Conference also earned a bid and replaced the Pacific Coast Softball Conference. 2017 Super Regionals moved to a three-day format. Previously, the Super Regional games were conducted over a two-day period, with the third if necessary game played as a part of a doubleheader on the second day.
