Join Us

Happy New Year to all volunteers logging on to Join Us, and a massive thanks to those who logged on over the holidays. The number of assigned enquiries which have not been contacted within 21 days has been reduced enormously, and I hope that this reduction keeps up.

Please make sure that when you contact a parent or volunteer, you move the ‘assigned' enquiry into contacted. This makes it easier for anyone to understand what stage of the process the enquiry is at. Leaving a comment also helps anyone looking at the enquiry to understand where in the process the girl or volunteer is at.

Please remember that Daniel and Carrie at the Region Office are available Monday – Friday to assist with any questions related to Join Us. You can email them at [email protected] or phone them on 0208 675 7572

Pantomime Trip – “oh yes they did!”

The North Chingford District , Guides and The Senior Section started the term along with other theatre goers and Brownies and Guides from other Districts watching Cinderella, performed by the Woodford Operatic and Dramatic Society at the local theatre.

It was a night of magic and mayhem! There were so many uniformed units that the characters started saying “hello Brownies!” rather than “hello kids”. The highlight though

was the singing - the cast were laughing so hard at the enthusiasm of the girls they could barely sing themselves!

“The most surreal bit for me (Deborah Moppett) was that 5 of the adult leaders (leading 5 separate units) had attended a pantomime with me many times before, but as members of my Guide unit! Very proud of them!” It’s great the tradition of attending the pantomime is still going strong – and to see members growing within guiding!

Carol Impey, North Chingford District Commissioner, and Deborah Moppett, 14th Chingford Leader.
