Return of the Dawgs 2005 Husky Football • 5 Huskies on the Airwaves Husky Radio Network The 2005 season marks the fifth year of the Husky Sports Network. Action Sports Media along with its partner, The Sporting News Radio Network, aquired the radio broadcast rights to Husky athletics in 2001. The five-year agreement provides the Huskies with wider coverage across the west coast. Washington becomes the first college athletic program to assign its radio rights to ASM. Seattle all- station KJR 950-AM serves as the flagship station for the Husky Radio Network. Gameday coverage for UW football features 11 hours of pre- and post-game coverage. Also, a weekly show featuring Washington’s head coach will air on Mondays at 5 p.m. on network stations. Highly-regarded play-by-play broadcaster Bob Rondeau heads up the group of announcers who will call the action on the Husky Radio Network. Rondeau is UW Information joined by former Husky All-American place kicker Chuck Nelson, who provides analysis and color commentary. Elise Woodard provide sideline reports. A variety of KJR-AM personalities will handle portions of the pre- and post-game coverage for the network.
