Ateneum Art Museum

The is ’s leading art museum, with a collection that includes art dating from the 19th century to the modern age. The Ateneum houses Finland’s largest collection of paintings, sculptures and prints. In addition to Finnish and Nordic art, the collection includes works by a number of famous international artists.

The Ateneum Art Museum’s 2019 exhibition programme is highly international. The colourful Stories of exhibition will be on display throughout the year, taking visitors on a tour of Finnish art from 1809 up until the 1960s.

Museum of Contemporary Art

The Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma showcases and collects the art of our time. Kiasma is an inclusive meeting place of art and people of all kinds. The Kiasma building, opened in 1998, was designed by the American architect Steven Holl.

The 2019 exhibition programme is built around the theme of goodness and im- pressive solo exhibitions. The exhibitions and performances emphasise the ideas of giving, sharing, hospitality and encounters.

Sinebrychoff Art Museum

The ’s collection includes the most valuable and most internationally significant paintings by old European masters in Finland. The collection has been built mainly through donations. The museum’s heart is the unique home of Paul and Fanny Sinebrychoff, which is on display on the second floor of the building. The art collection of the Sinebrychoffs, including furniture and artefacts, was transferred to the Finnish state as a bequest in 1921.
