On the occasion of the official presentation of Sannio FilmFest, the international festival of costume drama, the Italian Cultural Institute hosts a dialogue between two famous Oscar winning costume designers:

Gabriella Pescucci (Academy Award 2006 nominee for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory; Academy Award winner for The Age of Innocence) and Jenny Beavan (Academy Award winner for A Room with a View)

Also on 2 March, Sannio FilmFest will also announce the names of the two British students winners of grants to attend master classes in costume and art direction for two weeks during the Festival, in June-July 2006.

The 10th edition of the Sannio FilmFest – the only European Film Festival focusing on costume films - will take place from 30th June to 9th July 2006 in the medieval town of Sant’Agata de’ Goti, in the Campania region of . The Sannio FilmFest pays tribute to costume designers and art directors, with a thematic festival rich in screenings, meetings, stages, retrospectives and exhibitions. Every year a Golden Capital Award is given to those European films which are remarkable for their art design and costumes.

There is also a non-competitive section dedicated to the costume film production of a European Country: after Hungary, Poland and Spain, the 2006 edition of the Festival is dedicated to Great Britain. “Hello Britain”, as this section is called this year, will bring to Sant’Agata de’ Goti one of the most famous costume designers in the world, Jenny Beavan. Thirteen films with costumes designed by her will be screened, and the costumes put on display for the duration of the festival.
