Art Stacey's practice is focused on a wide range of commercial and Art Stacey property matters, with an emphasis on agri-business ventures across western Canada. Art often acts for entrepreneurs and business people in start-up situations. REPRESENTATIVE CASES/TRANSACTIONS: Amongst other deals, Art has acted for the Great Western Railway in its purchase from West-Can Rail Ltd. of 302 miles of railway in south-western in 2004, the Ltd. in its purchase of the Fife Lake subdivision from CPR in 2005, the Last Mountain Railway in its purchase from CNR of a portion of the Craik subdivision in central Saskatchewan, and the Company in its purchase of a portion of the La Riviere subdivision in south-western Manitoba. Previously Art acted for Prairie Pasta Cooperative, an attempt by durum producers in Canada and the mid-western United States to form an international durum processing cooperative. In such contexts Art also practices in the area of securities law.
