Had a great evening at this show on Saturday. It's a small venue, probably about 100 covers and that made it seem like a private party. I spoke with Jonathan Peter the director and he said that amongst other things he was working on, he wanted to do something more personal and Dusty was his choice as he was a big fan. They began with an instrumental Quiet Please and then each singer sang in rotation, one song each, and although not one of them had a voice that was anything like Dusty's, they did her songs proud. They have all performed in the West End and on TV, two on the Lloyd Weber shows (for Nancy and Dorothy). My personal favourites were Amelia Cormack an Australian with a powerful voice and Stephanie Fearon who had finished 4th in Over the Rainbow. The songs were mainly from the 60's, 24 in all, including the less performed I'll Try Anything, I Think it's Gonna Rain and Am I The Same Girl which was sung by Hannah Levane, who actually was another favourite! She did the funky stuff, like Middle of Nowhere and SOAPM and has performed in Sister Act and We Will Rock You. It was all very professionally done and the three of us (and the rest of the room) loved it Hannah Levane

The producer of the show has let me know that because the last show was so popular, they have been asked to do another Dusty night in June. It's on the 7th and, as luck would have it, I'm out of the country, but if anyone is around the King's Rd on that date, I can really recommend it, it was an excellent night. When I get more info, I'll post it here. There's a part of you, that's a part of me...

Just seeing this...sounds like a fun night, Carole. They should repeat the performance sometime around DD when the fans are swarming London. It would be a fun night out for them all. paula x
