I am pleased to share the 2011-12 Foundation Annual Report with you. This publication recognizes all who have so generously supported Tennessee State University over the past year. You will find stories that celebrate the philanthropic spirit of our benefactors, as well as highlights of the financial status of the Foundation’s resources.

In 2012, we celebrated 100 years of this great institution, and it was a remarkable year. It is through the support of alumni, corporations, foundations and friends that the legacy continues. Private giving to the Foundation increased 62 percent over the previous year, and the Foundation issued more than $947,000 in student scholarships and $900,000 in programmatic support to the University.

Thank you for sharing your resources with the University and tomorrow’s leaders. Your generosity will help TSU remain a place that provides opportunities for thousands of students to “Think. Work.
