Terrific performance in Boulder Listen to everything and find out more at www.rightarmresource.com as well as facebook.com/rightarmresource or twitter.com/rightarmjesse The online buzz is building for Elle King’s “Ex’s and Oh’s” “Elle King’s got the kind of forceful vocals and fast-picking deftness on the that force a listener to sit up and take notice, but it’s the party-hard nature of her live performances and her biting, candid lyrics that continually leave us wondering what she’ll say (well, sing) next. Known for humorously explicit covers as well as original songs with TV placements, like “Playing For Keeps,” King has now released a new single, “Ex’s & Oh’s.” The tune includes a healthy dose of King’s usual wit set to an catchy, strong beat.” - Paste

“It’s hard to put this singer in a box as her music is a mix of rock, soul, folk, jazz and country. We had the opportunity to preview a few tracks off of her upcoming debut album at Electric Lady Studios recently and we were very impressed. Also, we have to add that King is a lot of fun and has a carefree personality.” - The Source

“Elle King presents “Ex’s & Oh’s,” her most defining and ambitious release to date. Her smoky retro sound will draw you into another realm and deliver the soundtrack while you’re there. Her voice compliments her smoky, shimmer- ing glare, her eyes so knowingly staring into you and providing a compelling, scintillating performance. And it’s okay to admit what gritty thoughts stir, because she not only gets it, she’s written a song about it.” - KickKickSnare

“Meet Elle King, the man eatin’, shit talkin’ spitfire of your dreams…or nightmares. (Boys: You’ve been warned.) Admittedly, the raspy rocker doesn’t quite fit the usual MuuMuse mold (stilettos, wigs and an ongoing love affair with the dance floor tend to be the usual M.O.) but, hey: Good music is good music, and “Exes And Oh’s” is just that. After signing to RCA a few years ago, the songstress kicked off her major label career with a self-titled EP in 2012, which included a track called “Playing For Keeps.” The song was eventually used as the theme of Mob Wives: Chi- cago (for all my fellow VH1 ratchet reality devotees), as well as a Mad Men campaign. (Therefore, it went big.) After two years and a lot of media buzz (#HOTLYTIPPEDACT!), Elle’s now locked and loaded with her big ol’ sin- gle from her forthcoming debut: “Ex’s & Oh’s,” a gritty ode to international lovers and their annoying cling-on habits. Backed by a twangy stomp, the track is loaded with sassy zingers (“They always wanna come, but they never wanna leave”), powerful Janis Joplin-like chops and howling hooks that ought to appeal to any true lover of pop music. It’s ballsy, brash and profoundly #unapologetic, like if Meghan Trainor got a serious R-rated kick in the (b)ass— or banjo, as it were. I actually caught Miss Elle performing a solo set downtown a few weeks ago at Rockwood, and I have to say: She puts on a great show. There wasn’t even a backing band on stage, and she was still on fire, stomping, hollering and strumming her way through the night. Her voice is insanely powerful — and she just happens to be hilarious, too. (I’m always a sucker for good between-song banter!)” - MuuMuse Sounding The Horn for another great Sons of Bill review “Love and Logic might be one of the prettiest records you’ll hear this year. The latest full-length record from Charlottesville, Virginia five- some Sons of Bill is tried and true Americana. Deep piano is the heart- beat of stunner “Fishing Song,” while mesmerizing steel guitar floats through “Lost in the Cosmos.” This is of the dreamiest kind, and though it’s quiet and collected as a whole, it will sneak up on you and make a huge impact with its thoughtfulness, much in the way a record like Jason Isbell’s Southeastern did last year. There’s darkness and lightness, and both are so perfectly proportioned in tunes like “Light a Light” and “Brand New Paradigm,” and the harmo- nies are warm, soaring and smooth.” - The Horn, 9/29/14 Coming up: 10/13: Damien Rice “I Don’t Want To Change You,” Ray LaMontagne “She’s The One,” Ziggy Marley “Lighthouse”... 10/20: The Lone Bellow “Then Came The Morning” RIGHT ARM RESOURCE WEEKLY UPDATE - 10/1/2014
