Overview

IBM BladeCenter® PCI Express I/O Expansion Unit (43W4391) This expansion unit provides the capability to attach selected PCI Express cards on selected server blades. This is ideal for many applications that require a special telecommunications network interface or hardware acceleration using a PCI Express card. It provides two full-height/full-length PCI Express slots with a 25W power supply for each slot. This PCI Express expansion unit is supported only on selected server blades. Refer to the ServerProven® Web site for a list of supported blades, supported adapters, and supported operating systems. This option integrates PCI Express card support capability into the blade architecture. It provides two full-length PCI Express x16 mechanical/x8 electrical slots for that blade alone, which can be used for a variety of cards. Features and benefits include:
