About Nuance CDE Nuance CDE is a cloud based Clinical Documentation Excellence system that assists a CDI program in improving productivity and accuracy. Nuance CDE leverages the prioritizing logic from CDE Triage to arrange the encounters by their rank of priority.

About CDE Triage CDE Triage module is a tool that prioritizes the Clinical Documentation Specialist’s (CDS) daily worklist to focus on encounters with the highest opportunity for documentation improvement. With targeted focus on improving diagnosis specificity, capturing quality indicators, and at a glance clarification status, CDE Triage helps to improve both productivity and clinical documentation.

About CDE One CDE One provides clarification management, code search, MS/APR-DRG capabilities and program analytics that create the core foundation of a successful CDI program. Chapter 1

Nuance CDE Considerations

The following considerations need to be addressed and reviewed, when you are using Nuance CDE: • It is your facility’s responsibility to ensure that any hardware or software which is required to run the application must meet the minimum system requirements detailed in this document. • Remote users require a broadband connection to connect to Nuance CDE servers. • Customer supplied and maintained Anti-virus software is recommended. There are no known exclusions. • The system requirements may change after installation. It is your facility’s responsibility to upgrade the system configuration to meet, or exceed, these requirements. • The system can process the non-image based RTF and the base64 encoded RTF documents.

Browser Configuration

Nuance CDE uses Internet Explorer as its web browser. For Nuance CDE to function properly, you need to configure your browser to display the correct font size, use the proper settings, and get updated pages every time it connects to the server.

Trusted Sites for Nuance CDE In the Internet Explorer, all websites that you visit are classified into one of four security zones either Internet, Local intranet, Trusted sites, or Restricted sites. Each security zone provides a different level of security. By adding a website to a specific zone, you can control the level of security used on that site. Some websites that you visit may have issue running in a higher security zone as the security settings can block the site’s functionality. To correct this, you can add a website as a trusted site. Add the following URLs to the trusted site list: • https://app.powerbi.com/: used for accessing the CDE Analytics • https://dc.services.visualstudio.com/: used for accessing the application insight • https://az416426.vo.msecnd.net/: used for accessing the CDE Analytics • https://*.analysis.windows.net/: used for accessing the CDE Analytics • https://nuancehdp.auth0.com: used for the central authentication For more information about the browser configuration, refer Chapter: 3 of the Nuance CDE User Guide.

These factors may limit Nuance’s ability to resolve issues in Citrix environments. Application issues encountered in a Citrix environment will be investigated and resolved to the best of Nuance’s ability, and may require collaboration with client-provided technical resources. Nuance is unable to provide direct support for Citrix applications at this time.
