MASONLITE QUICKSILVER™ ELECTRODES with INTEGRAL MERCURY This electrode is a major advance for the Neon Industry. It removes the need for free mercury in the workroom. No ope bottles or spillage. The mercury dose is a guaranteed consistent quantity already encapsulated within the electrode.

The mercury is dispensed into the 1.1 tube after completion of the pumping 1.1 and bombarding process. The tube can be sealed off and removed to the aging table before the mercury is dispensed as this improves productivity. Dispensing can take place when convenient, even many days later. All that is required to release the mercury into the tube is a transformer of at least 50 to 60 mA.

MASONLITE ELECTRODES In order to achieve excellence, all the raw materials used for Masonlite electrodes are of the best quality available in the world. The shells are deep drawn from the finest quality pure soft iron, and than nickel plated (except 8/15 which are stainless steel) in a custom built dedicated plant. This ensures the required quality and prevents contamination. Following plating, the shells are heated to a high temperature in a vacuum chamber to remove any gasses or volatile contaminants which may have been trapped in the metal. If this process in not carried out, the impurities may remain in the shell and could shorten the tube life. “A” Activation was developed by Masonlite for the neon sign electrode. It offers improved electrode life, and much easier processing than other activation. Since its introduction in the early 1980’s it has become our most popular activation worldwide. “F” Activation is intended to be used with “oven pumping” where the electrodes are going to be processed by Eddy Current Heating (ECH or high frequency heating), instead of bombarding. This oil is for flushing only, and should not be used for high vacuum operation.

MANIFOLD AND COMPLETE PUMPING SYSTEM 100 pump oil - 1 liter size The MAXI-VAC manifold virtually eliminates the leakage, breakage, contamination, and downtime common to older systems by eliminating the components that cause it. Gone forever are the grease type stopcocks, numerous connections, and maze of fragile glass tubing which result in wasted repair time and, worse still, finished neon products of inconsistent quality. Short lengths of heavy wall 50mm diameter borosilcate tubing are welded in a compact configuration which has the fewest possible number of connections, then annealed to remove strain. The result is an extremely strong assembly that provides the highest possible flow rates, maximum vacuum integrity, minimal gas waste, and the easiest interior access for cleaning. The MAXI-VAC manifold employs the fewest num- ber of stopcocks to minimize the possibility of leakage. The two 25mm diameter main stopcocks are larger than on any other pump- ing manifold, providing the highest pumping rates. The stopcocks are machined from durable Teflon and feature a new coarse thread design that provides long life, fast actuation, and easy removal and rethreading for cleaning.

TEMPILAQ G TEMPERATURE INDICATING LIQUIDS Tempilaq G is a quick and easy way to verify the achievment of a specific temperature on a wide range of surfaces under dynamic conditions. When Tempilaq is applied to a surface it quickly dries to dull, opaque film. When heat is applied to the surface and the rated temperature is reached the film liquefies. As the surface cools the liqufied Tempilaq re-solidifies to leave a distinctly different mark confirming that the target temperature has indeed been achieved. Tempilaq is available in 44 different ratings from 175 degrees F to 2000 degrees F.

TEMPILSTIK TEMPERATURE INDICATORS PRODUCTS Now you can employ accurate temperature indication quickly and easily without the use of expensive and bulky guages or electronic systems. And, at a fraction of the cost of other devices. Tempilstik is a simple, easy-to-use temperature indicator which guaranteed accurate to + 1% of the rated temperature. It is ideal for a wide range of applications from surface temperature measurment during metal working procedures such as heat treating and welding to measuring temperature of neon glass bending. To use Tempilstik, simply mark the surface. Tempilstik will make a mark by melting at the point of contact once the surface reaches the product’s rated temperature. Ranges are available from 100 degrees F to 2500 degrees F.
