No.II(1)/PUSC/1/2020.—WHEREAS, in the opinion of the Government of Tamil Nadu, it is necessary to declare the premises of Chennai New Terminal, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited at Vallur/Athipattu, Ponneri Taluk, Tiruvallur District as specified in the Schedule below to be a "Prohibited Place" under sub-clause (d) of clause (8) ofsection2 of the Official Secrets Act, 1923 (Central Act XIX of 1923), onthe ground that information with respect thereto, or the destruction or obstruction thereof, or interference therewith, would be useful to an enemy;

AND, WHEREAS, in pursuance of clause (1) of Article 258 of the Constitution of India, the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, have, in their Notification No. S.O. 1285, dated the 4th May 1963, published in the Gazette ofIndia,dated the 11th May 1963, entrusted to the Government of Tamil Nadu the functions of the Central Government in relation to any matter specified in sub-clauses (c) and (d) of clause (8) of Section 2 of the Official Secrets Act, 1923 (Central Act XIX of 1923); NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-clause (d) of clause (8) of section 2 of the Official Secrets Act, 1923 (Central Act XIX of 1923), the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby declares, with effect on and from the date of publication of this Notification in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette, the premises of Chennai New Terminal, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited at Vallur/Athipattu, Ponneri Taluk, Tiruvallur District, as specified in the Schedule below, to be a “Prohibited Place” for the purposes of the said Act:-
