County Council District of Parishes of , , Burnham & Highbridge, Chapel Allerton, , Weare and Temporary Prohibition of Vehicles

Somerset County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended and after communicating with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act of 1984, hereby makes the following order:

1. This Order will come into operation on the 4th day of April 2019 and will remain in force for eighteen months. The restrictions will apply when indicated by traffic signs.

2. Except as provided in Article 3 of this Order no person will cause or permit any vehicle to enter, proceed or wait along the lengths of road specified in schedules to this Order

3. Nothing in Article 2 of this Order will apply to:

(i) Anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform; (ii) Police, Fire and Ambulance emergency service vehicles. (iii) Vehicles falling within regulation 3(1), 3(2), 3(3) and 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011(a) when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations.

Schedule Temporary Prohibition of Vehicles

Lane through From its junction with Church Lane to its junction Badgworth Badgworth, Weare Lane, a distance of 512 metres. The proposed date of the closure is 13th April for 4 days.

Brent Road & Ham From its junction with Rectory Hill to its junction with Rawlings Road Lane, a distance of 480 metres. The proposed date of the closure is 8th May for 7 days.

Cheddar Road, From a point 360 metres south of its junction with Dungeon Cocklake to a point 560 metres north of its junction with New Road, a distance of 1398 metres. The proposed date of the closure

is 10th May for 15 days.

From its junction with Quarrylands Lane for a distance of 460 Badgworth Lane, metres. The proposed date of the closure is 16th May for 6 days.

From its junction with Badgworth Lane to its junction with Quarrylands Lane, Church Lane a distance of 400 metres. The proposed date of Axbridge the of the closure is 16th May for 6 days

From its junction with Rawlings Lane to its junction with Rectory Hill, Weare Road, a distance of 535 metres. The proposed date of Axbridge the closure is 16th May for 7 days.

Junction with Rectory Hill to Junction with Allerton Lane, a Notting Hill Way, distance of 165 metres. The proposed date of the closure is Stone Allerton 23rd May for 7 days

From its junction with Crickham Road to its junction with Lane from the cross Quab Lane, a distance of 630 metres. The proposed date of to Washbrook, the closure is 31st May for 10 days. Middle Stoughton From its junction with Bristol Road to 300 metres north of Kingsway, its junction of Queensway Close, a distance of 4500 Badgworth metres. The proposed date of the closure is 6th June 2019 for 22 days.

From its junction with Notting Hill Way to its junction with Mill Lane, Alston Sutton Road, a distance of 480 metres. The proposed Weare date of the closure is 20th June for 7 days.

From its junction with New Road to its junction of Stone Allerton Drove, Hookedmead Lane, a distance of 530 metres. The proposed Stone Allerton date of the closure is 27th June for 8 days.

From its junction with Front Street to its junction of Notting Hill Allerton Lane, Stone Way, a distance of 530 metres. The proposed date of the Allerton closure is 8th July for 3 days.

Dunkerry Road, From its junction with Front Street to its junction with Notting Stone Allerton Hill Way, a distance of 435 metres. The proposed date of the closure is 26th July for 7 days.

Statement of reasons for making the Order a) Because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road; or b) because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works.
