Floyd Medical Center (Floyd) is a modern, 304-bed full service, acute care and regional referral center, providing a full array of medical services and the latest technology to support centers of excellence. The Floyd family of services has been responding to the health care needs of Rome and surrounding communities in Northwest and Northeast Alabama for over 60 years. More than 300 physicians cover more than 40 medical specialties, providing individualized personal attention to more than 200,000 each year.

Known throughout the 16-county area as the leader in emergency and trauma care, Floyd is a state-designated Level II . As the only hospital in Floyd County providing maternity services, Floyd offers the latest in family-centered care in the homelike setting of the labor, delivery, and recovery suites where more than 3,000 babies are born each year. Our Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is the only one of its kind in Northwest Georgia. The Pediatric Specialties Unit is the only dedicated pediatric inpatient unit in the area. Floyd offers a full complement of diagnostic and treatment technologies.

Postgraduate Program This dually-accredited program has nine AOA approved positions and a total of twenty-four residency training positions. There are no competing residencies in this friendly, supportive atmosphere, which means you see it all and you do it all. The residents are exposed to the full spectrum of family medicine through our diverse population. The electives offer our residents the opportunity to explore a variety of subspecialties.

Compensation: Internship: $51,000 OGME2: $52,000 OGME3: $53,000 Transition Allowance: $3,000 Benefits: Health, dental, and vision insurance paid for residents and their families; life insurance provided to residents equal to two times annual salary; spouse and dependent life insurance coverage available; malpractice coverage for program related activities; disability insurance available, 30 days leave per year; book and CME allowance; paid orientation; free lab coats and laundering; free on-duty meals; free onsite exercise center; free physician parking; snacks and drinks provided in resident lounge; BLS, ACLS and PALS provided; smartphone allowance; electronic medical records; health and wellness program; allowance for Step 3/Level 3, State license and DEA.
