Abstract: Six new species of the foraminiferal genera Rotalia, Lagena, Quinqueloculina, Bo livina, , and Rosalina are described and figured from the Lakhra and the basal Laki formations (Montian-Landenian) of the Lower Indus Basin in Pakistan.

Introduction During the examination of the microfaunas from subsurface sampies of the Lakhra and Laki formation of the Lakhra area, Sind, about 120 species of sm aller belonging to the super-families Miliolacea, Discorbacea, Rotaliacea and Nodosariacea have been recorded (USMANI 1984). Among these species, six forms belonging to the genera Rotalia, Lagena, Quinqueloculina, Bolivina, Discorbis and Rosalina are very distinct in their spec ific characters and do not resemble and compare with any of the described spec ies. The objective of this communication is to describe these species which are probably new forms. 1t may be mentioned here that HAQUE (1956, 1962) made a poineering effort in describing the Tertiary sm aller benthonit foraminifera from the Sah Range and Sind region. However, since his c1assic work no further study has been taken up.
