Mountain Lakes Medical Center is excited to announce the new 67,000 square foot hospital coming to Clayton, Georgia. This new facility will include 25 inpatient beds, new state-of-the-art operating rooms, an in-house pharmacy, lab, dietary and radiology departments. Outpatient and top-of-the- line Emergency services will also be offered. The new hospital will serve the Rabun County community and surrounding regions throughout Northeast Georgia.
The facility sits on top of a mountain overlooking the charming town of Clayton, Georgia, and is designed to take advantage of the surrounding landscape. The exterior of the patient floor will have 10-foot glass walls to provide patients with a peaceful and breath-taking view. Instead of a traditional lobby, a breezeway will offer patients and visitors a refreshing view of the surrounding ridges as they wait. The new Mountain Lakes Medical Center is expected to be complete by fall of 2017.
The steel and concrete that make up the building’s backbone have now been completed and are secure. By February the exposed spine of our building should be completely covered, and by the end of April all of the building’s outer details should be complete.
Then the interior structure and all of the working parts will begin to take shape. Drywall is to be finished by the end of April and then on to the painting and trim work. Once that is complete there are plans to December 2016 Page 5 have the move-in day sometime in September. At this point our current facility will see its final patients, and on that day the new facility will begin welcoming its first patients into its doors. It will be an exciting time for Rabun County!
Upon first glance, our patients will immediately know that this facility is, on all fronts, a new book in the story of MLMC. This facility will provide the residents of Rabun and the surrounding counties with a fresh new perspective on the state of Healthcare in Rabun County.
The stunning view from all areas of the Hospital will create a safe haven for our patients, especially on the stunning Bistro Deck. From all areas, the patients and visitors will enjoy the exquisite views the county has to offer.
From our new hospital, we will be able to give top- of-the-line-care to those who have the opportunity to spend the night in our facility. As for the rest, they will enjoy our streamlined outpatient services provided to the area and our expanded Emergency Department with 12 private rooms--including a state-of-the-art Trauma Center and an Isolated Behavioral Health Clinic.
Tests will be a breeze at the new facility. Patients will be able to receive immediate results from our cutting-edge radiology, lab, and therapy equipment. The new equipment will help the entire community receive better health care!
This new chapter of Mountain Lakes Medical Center will be attracting talented specialists, physicians, and mid-levels medical professionals who are eager to work in a new and thriving cutting-edge environment. We have already begun to see interest from the medical community at large. It is only a matter of time before the nearly 40 acres of property attached to our new facility is filled with Medical Office Buildings for every specialty from Cardiology to Oncology and beyond.
