Ohio Pharmacists Foundation: Your Source for Continuing Education

The Ohio Pharmacists Foundation, Inc. (OPF) is the educational and research arm of the Ohio Pharmacists Association. Accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education, OPF provides the continuing pharmacy education credit for programming of- fered by the Ohio Pharmacists Association, including its Annual Conference, Midyear Meeting and Ohio Pharmacist journal articles, Entrepreneurship Center programs, etc. OPF also offers niche programs to meet specific needs of pharmacists. In 2012 we trained 116 pharmacists to administer immuni- zations, allowing them to expand their pharmacy services or to work in a practice setting that provides adult vaccines. Since we began our immunization training program in 2001, nearly 800 pharmacists completed their immunization training through OPF. Future plans include programs in medication therapy management, compounding, pain management and entrepreneurship. The launch of our new online education portal (RxCEonDemand.com) will also provide pharmacists with 24/7 access to webinars on essential topics for improving pharmacy practice and patient outcomes. If you like to travel, OPF also provides opportunities for pharmacists to earn CE credit away from home. In February 2012, we hosted a CE cruise to the beautiful Hawaiian islands, Ohio Pharmacists and in January 2013 we offered eight hours of CE in sunny Puerto Rico.
